Autopsy Hawks vs Black Hole Suns

We overuse the blocking the man on the mark.

It serves a purpose in the right circumstances, but sometimes you gotta go back quickly and lower the eyes rather than sneaking back and scoping out a teammate to lay the block.

We have been running ourselves into trouble and kicking in hope too many times this season doing this.

Frustrating game to watch. Suckling at least seemed to be working harder than some of those around him but still would've preferred to see him miss and Woody get a run. Conditions were perfect for Woody; slippery and wet.

Roughead needs to find some form pretty badly. Don't expect a rocket to arrive in the form of omission based on how long it took for Suckling to get it. Rough looks frustrated with himself which means he'll probably get suspended next week for something wreckless.

Howe looked good. Would like to see him get a full game next week.

I saw it, well played. Woody ideal in today's conditions;)

Haven't seen any of the game.

Saw we were playing in Tassie a few weeks back and organised a weekend away with the missus instead.

Good to hear the usual fair of scrappy frustrating football was being played in Launceston.

Will be interested to watch the replay, and how Howe went.
What are you doing here then??????;)

Or keeping an eye on Lance???

Hope you aren't having a weekend away with Lance...

do it in white,looks good
Sorry to nitpick, but we probably shouldn't have a permanent clash jumper that only recognises the heritage of our Aboriginal players. I like it to celebrate Indigenous Round, but if we are going to have a clash strip, it needs to reflect the whole Club.

As for the match, the players were on s hiding to nothing today. They won by 100 and they'd be criticised for beating up on rubbish sides. They win by 50 points and are criticised for not beating a rubbish side by enough.

Enjoy winning everyone. The alternative is nowhere near as fun

With the weather conditions today, the game would have been just as bad at Etihad. With the roof closed ;)

Howe looked very composed when he had the ball. Drew lots of positive comments from the people around me.

Unfortunately, same issues as all year. Rubbish first quarters (Not all excused by the weather), Players in the back half instinctively looking for a switch. There was bugger all movement further up the field. Half forwards and high mids just not working hard enough. We'd often just bomb it in and GC would slingshot it back down. Luckily for us, they weren't skillful enough to make us pay too often. Players trying to be too unselfish. Suckling should be called Showboat!!

First half - players getting too close to the man on the mark again. Second half, they all seemed to take a few more steps and kick it a bit more easily.

Lake was excellent, was the only reliable player who could judge the flight of the ball.
Smithy/Hill/Hartung were pretty good, as was Shiels.
Mitchell was a turnover king in the first quarter and a bit.
Hale and Cegs good.
Cyril was excellent.

Suckling/Litherland - Back to the Magoos!
Didn't really spot Hodge too much. Worked his way into the game in the 2nd half though.
Burger was quite noticable, played a decent match.

In summary, 1 good quarter of football and relying on opposition mistakes.

Who was it?

no idea, just a stat that came on fox footy after the game. One thing, couldn't be Hawthorn.

Re the game. 1st Quarter, lets give credit where credit is due and that is to the Suns. Their efforts showed at least in the 1st they came out to play. Their tackling pressure was excellent. Their extra man in defence and our stupid decision to take a marking forward out of the team meant we had a real battle at half forward. Not helped by Roughie failing to take any marks.

Their ruckman Nichols was good. Didn't give in, gave a contest. I was impressed.

In the end they had so many back defending the problem came when they did clear, there was no one to kick to.

It was carlton and the finished third.

Some one in here said it was sth melbourne.

They were 2nd in rnd 10 (9 games) with 7 wins. and 129% Carlton had won 5 games and sat 5th after 9 games with a percentage of 141.6% Carlton finished 3rd and bowed out in the elimination semi final.
