Rockliff??

On SM-G950F using BigFooty.com mobile app

It was an example. Kelly you would have to trade for. Rockcliff is a FA.

Anyway my point is that what we need to push up into the Top 4 are some very good mids and not yet another guy that can play as a small forward and fill in at best on a midfield rotation.

Yeah I dont like it when we use a top pick on an overage player. If we didnt select him then how far down would he have gone to then have an opportunity to select again? I think we could have nabbed with our 3rd rounder.

Battle is a gun, once year 12 is out of the way and AFL is 110% focus wow wee the forward line will have healthy competition for selection.
no chance

Sinclair 2 year ago = yes I think most people were because that is where he started. Sinclair has grown as a player and has that skillset that good to great mids have in smarts and ballskills.

It was only middle of last year they started to play him at Sandi with some games in the midfield. Against North he and acres were rotating through the forward line and midfield (Which is very much my point).

As a rookie reportedly the club mainly took him on Billings recommendation.

Gresham I do believe will be a small forward rotating mid, rather than full time mid.

When we picked up Long it was with Weller, Lonie, Wright and Meatball all primarily designated as small forwards.

Billings was recruited as small forward who will play some midfield time, but who is likely stay mainly as a forward as that is where he plays his best football. He was being played for a bit across HB to broaden his game, but after moving back to the forward line he has hit his straps.

Exactly how many guys do you need on a list to rotate through our forward line as small forwards, and moreso the ones who are not good enough to play midfield time?

And moreso again as Membrey is now a lock in the third tall role. So that is one less spot that small forward can play in.

PS: If by some miracle we gain Kelly and Rockliff then Jack Steven would probably spend more time rotating forward too.

He was described as a midfielder/forward. Prior to the draft.

Yes we started him forward. Geelong started Gary forward too.
I don't mind it, traditionally we've drafted pure mids or defenders, and we've lacked for forwards. A lot that were meant to be forwards ended up useless as anything except a half back flank or tagger.

Long was also not a "Forward" having played plenty off the backline.

Minchington was a small midfielder who we played forward.
Weller was a midfielder who, it seems was only capable of being a defensive forward. ( Think Andrew McQualter ).
Wright was a back, who , it turns out is too dangerous to have with his hands on the ball in the backline.
I'm not that fussed about hose three.

To me one of the trickier aspects for AFL drafting, is figuring out what the kids will be able to do as they develop.
Half the hype of Petracca was that he was a sure thing to be playing midfield.

I don't mind trying to draft "forward oriented " mids.
I'd put
Dangerfield
Fyfe ( A forward prior to the draft ).
Cousins
Deledio
Zhaharakis
Ablett

In that category.

So Essendon and WB were keen meaning two of the better teams when it comes to drafting (as much as it pains me to give a compliment to Essendon)
Yep.

:p I'll take the compliment.

Only if Collingwood beat the Dees, which would open up possibilities for our own aspirations as well.

I'll need to wash my mouth out, but go Pies...

They would have to probably win by at least 100. Our only hope is freo beating Essendon and that is no hope. We aren't playing finals unfortunately.

The ideal result tonight would be a 1 point win to the Bulldogs.

Hawks will be vulnerable to drop ladder spots with a loss and it will also eliminate the Bulldogs from finals contention provided we win Sunday.

So tonight we get to partly open our present

Hawks win (As I'm tipping) it's pick 7

Hawks lose and we could possibly get pick 6

bring it on

need to get 2 tips back on my mate and I get one if Hawks win... so go Hawthorn!

reckon the Dees will beat Collingwood anyway so it won't matter
