As much as North supporters were tired of Scott to the end of his tenure, he was still liked by alot of fans, and his coaching while didn't really hold up as well in the past 1-3 years, is still lightyears ahead of Bolton.

Carlton fans I expect would be better served with Scott, with Carltons list there is progress he can make with it considering its a dominantly young list.

Bolton has had more than his fair shake, and his record speaks for itself. A 50% win record is better than whatever crap Bolton is dishing up.

Average losing margin just under 5 goals. The manner in which they lost today was pretty deflating. To really drop off in the final quarter after strong efforts against Hawthorn and Collingwood for tight finishes, today was a game that should have commandeered a much better final quarter.

Can’t see how Bolton gets through this.

Exactly 2 more quarters. Goodbye Bolts! BF is going to go into meltdown at 6pm.
I give him about 40 minutes.

SOS might survive about 24 hour - might be bit mean to sack him on the same day his son plays his 50th. SOS will go down in history as one of the world list managers ever.
Wish I could be as bad at any job as sos and be worshipped for it

A sincere question for the Richmond folks in here: How bad were the Tigers when some folks said “enough” and put together that “focus on football” ticket in an attempt to roll the board? I know you folks aren’t too proud of that episode, but gee, you have to admire that there were some proud Richmond folks who didn’t think the performances were acceptable and put their hand up to do something about it ...

... so my point is: Why hasn’t anybody done that at Carlton yet? How bad do things need to get before the Carlton board get turfed out? Has that club lost all pride??

He cannot possibly survive that horrific performance. When Cripps puts the cue in the rack at half time it’s all over folks.

We got Stocker in that trade and so far so good. He is harder than 90% of the other players which is what we need.
Stocker Looked good today, but someone should have shut SOS down on that deal at first mention.

Everyone gets excited on draft day and wishes they had one more pick to grab a kid, but you have to put your mind forward and remember that you will feel the same at the next draft, and it will kill you to have the pick downgrade then.

Carlton thought they new something about their list that the Crows didn't.

Disastrous hubris.

This is all on SOS. the second they traded their future first rounder he put so much unnecessary pressure on the list to perform. Add to that Doc' going down in pre-season and iit so quickly showed the total & utter stupidity of the decision. Why you would put a young list, supporters and the media in a situation where they KPI themselves against a mature list like Adelaide, is beyond me. If i didnt know any better, i would say he set Bolton up for failure.

Teams who have lived at the bottom for a decade - never, ever, EVER trade future 1st round pick. Whoever signed off on that and supported it - needs to be sacked. Clearly did not do his research on other sports like the NBA - so unprofessional

Nah, I disagree with this.

Firstly, I don’t believe that SOS would have traded the first pick without Bolton signing off on it directly (“Yeah, go ahead and trade it”) or indirectly (“We’ll be good enough to finish around ~whatever on the ladder”).

Secondly, I reckon Carlton did the right thing by removing any incentive (real or perceived) to tank / lose / have poor results.

Tbh we don't need another no. 1 pick. We need experienced players. Sure we could trade the 1 for access to experience, but in Stocker I trust. He has good skills and the intangibles like game sense, tenacity and aggression. When he got wrestled by McKernan he cracked the shots and gave it back to him. That's what we need, people who except the challenge and then go the extra step and challenge again.
The more players like this the better.
As I said we have enough 1st rounders, we should trade most of our picks this year for established players.

Even back in 2016 Richmond weren't as bad as Carlton are now, Richmond won more games that year than Carlton have any year under Bolton

Boltons record is terrible but SOS has been negligent in his list management. Basically gave him a list with too much youth and not enough solid mature bodies to help them. We all know young kids fluctuate and get tired over a long season so why hasn't there been a bit more support? Look a the Gold Coast last year, they recruited well to put some average but hardened bodies around the kids and despite probably still having a worse list than Carlton they've generally been pretty competitive.
