I’d be disappointed if they sacked him.

Imagine trading out every half decent mature body over 26 except for the ex captain and three 30+ year olds, drafting small mids and then demanding they be developed in the 1s in key roles on show, supplementing them with average mature rookies because the top picks were taken, and then wondering why it’s not all working?

Bolton and SOS are only following a plan outlined by the club in 2015. Proud of Bolts particularly for continuing to try and develop instead of playing a different style to save his own skin. Whether you agree with his methods or not is another issue, but clearly he’s following a directive by playing a combination of Fisher, SPS, Dow, Walsh and Setterfield as the starting mids, and what I’d imagine to be one of the youngest spines ever.

Get some decent assistants in and overpay for any half decent mature mid who hints at being willing to come. Things can change quickly even though we seem so far away.

Bolton comes across as top bloke and all but as a leader of men, he just doesn't stack up.
Never played at the top level and when your his size in stature, you need to have some kind of intimidation factor about you.
He's more suited to a assistant role where he can mentor and spend more time with individuals on their roles.

I'm confused if bolton gets the sacked, Haven't number of people in the media been saying don't worry about Car there on the right track and have best young list in the comp. Also that Shiel picked the wrong team should have gone to the blues.

Carlton need to give away any thoughts of premierships for 10 years.

Use top drafts picks for established players.

Need established mids, mids and mids.

They need a COLA for 5 years. $2M each year for 5 years. It's the only way they can attract established players.

Enough is enough, they need help.

If SOS was not a Carlton ex, he would have been booted out by now. Needs to pack his bags along with Bolton.
Surely this is a joke?

You would love to have him at junior level with kids, would be great for their confidence and self esteem.

Always happy and smiling and positive. I bet he is a good father too.

A sincere question for the Carlton folks in here ...

... back when Bolton was appointed, what expectations did the club set for where they’d be at the end of the 66 game rebuild?

dunno about the club but i expected to be competitive in every match we played by now. maybe a 1 in 3 or 4 winning ratio with a clear vision of how the team played the game and where the next step of improvement would come from.

Sorry mate, don't take it personally but it's just an opinion and one that is very important to our sport.
It is why a female will never become a senior coach at AFL level.
Fagan is also about 6ft and not 5ft'1 or whatever Bolton is.

Feel sorry for him.

A disgusting and toxic football club.

How can you feel sorry for him? This is his 4th year not his 2nd, results have to kick in at some point. He s an educator apparently and in his 4th year either he is a bad educator or his players don’t listen to him.
You are supposed to be a good footballer to be drafted to the AFL so you should not need 4 years in pre school to play the game.
Last 30 games they have won 4, not good enough at any level let alone at the highest level.

Oh no couldn't they have waited another week? Will probs come out breathing fire against us this week under a caretaker or in Bolts last game. What should have been an easy four points for the Lions....haha
If they waited another week then it would have been two coaches sacked prior to Bulldogs games and likely two losses for us.

Pls take one for the team.
