Had she returned to work first? Or was this pre planned annual leave would be the first questions for me

Gee Wizardry! Where were all these righteous folk when Trump got COVID?

If you want a good read of some seriously repulsive posting and hypocrisy, the 30-odd pages of it starts here. Plenty of conspiracies thrown in too.

Oh shit even the most tolerant of posters on this board got stuck into Boris too back in April too!

Hope Dan gets well though.

I would not be surprised. It's all part of the indigenous industry money go round.

I was at a corporate function where they had a "welcome to country" on the agenda. No one questioned that it's a fairly recently invented thing. The Aboriginal elder failed to show and sent his 25 yo niece. She cracked a few lame jokes aimed at the industry at the event then mumbled some blah blah about traditional custodians etc. $840 for 15 minutes. Nice little earner.

I have a good mate who is Aboriginal we have been friends since we were six years old back in WA, he works for the government in the health department over here earning close to 140k a year, we played golf the other week and were discussing work, i explained what i did with my job in shipping. When i asked him about his job and what he did, he could not explain it or define his job description. The only thing he said was he pretty much chooses his own hours with no one really checking him. Goes with your theory of the indigenous money go round, although i'm sure this would be the same all states.

She hasn't returned to work, i'm sure if it's planned leave it will come out.

My next concern is we are are being pushed to holiday in Vic to get the economy going again, yet one of the ministers who was involved in the **** ups chooses to holiday in Queensland. My last two weekends have been in Warrnambool and Philip Island, my next break is Lakes Entrance in May. Shame a government minister can't find it in them selves to holiday locally. At least Dan had the decency to have his break at a local business.

But i'm sure the Labor fans will find a way to defend this.

The criticism is a bit harsh. If she needs a holiday to take care of her overall wellbeing, I don't see the problem.

No issue if it is annual leave, however if it is sick leave, then no, i know what my employer would be saying if i did the same thing.

And as i said we are being asked to support local and stay in Victoria and holiday, yet a senior minister seems to take her funds elsewhere, just a touch hypocritical if you ask me.

Sure, appropriate for politicians to not poke fun but we are the great unwashed public. We are not to be held to the (low) standards of politicians
what a silly post. you need to familiarise yourself with the word "standard". you appear to have none. maybe you'll end up in intensive care facing major surgery one day and you'll get it. probably beyond you.

I've got a good mate who has Crohn’s disease. It can be very debilitating. But the timing of her sick leave seems very convenient - same as Linda Reynolds. Both seem like they are not up to the job anyway.

This is my experience of Covid-19 testing in Victoria this week.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday because I had a bit of catarrh that was hanging around. He gave me a referral for a general pathology test and also for a Covid-19 test.

I checked the Barwon Health website to find the nearest Covid-19 screening centre. It said 'appointments preferred' so I rang them. There was no answer after half an hour so I assumed they must be too busy to answer the phone. I decided to just drive down. When I arrived, there was no queue for the drive through testing but it was closed for lunch!

So I went to the associated clinic next door. It was empty. They said they could only test for Covid-19, not the general stuff, and I had to self-isolate until the result came back. This morning I got a text message to say I was negative for Covid-19.

So then I went to another path lab for a general test. The nurse told me the lab would have tested for everything so it shouldn't be necessary. I showed her the text message which just said I was negative for Covid-19. She was like WTF are they doing? She said she could perform the general tests but because it included Covid-19 I would have to self-isolate again. This nurse shoved the swab stick right up my nose. I told her for the previous test the nurse just wiggled it around low down. Nurse 2 said the first test was basically useless.

TL;DR
Doctors are referring patients for Covid-19 tests when it's extremely unlikely they have it.
The infrastructure around testing is sub-standard.
The clinical testing is sub-standard.
Communication of lab results is sub-standard.
People are having to self isolate for days at a time unnecessarily.

Hopefully the leaders of Danistan will go to jail after all

"I don't recall".
"I fell down some stairs".

Classic case of whataboutism Clunky.;)

If the photo is recent then it's not a good look recuperating outside the State. Reckon Dan would tell her so too.

Fortunately Dan is not as silly as you Chris

'... the WorkSafe investigation into “entities and people” will be to determine why so many public servants and ministers cried out in the inquiry run by Jennifer Coate, “I don’t know”.

Part of those answers was the confusion and lack of systems that came out of the (hotel quarantine) missions structure disaster.

... reason for the apparent memory lapses was fear.
The fact that the industrial manslaughter legislation is now part of the occupational health and safety regime means that ministers and public servants could be jailed.

Even though 801 people were killed, that is still a huge penalty. Worksafe CEOs job is to use his powers to get to the truth.'

Been on the other end working in intensive care. Humor is how we cope.

Quote happy to poke fun both ways.

My cousin was in a LTR with a paramedic. Some of the stuff that would tumble out of her mouth was horrifying.
I knew a train driver who joked about railroad suicides. As Crankyhawk stated, it is a coping mechanism (that they need).

They are investigating the security companies. If you think Dan is at any risk of prosecution or something more serious you're as bigger goofball as the poster/s suggesting it.
