India vs England test series

In an ideal world you'd probably have Sidebottom in for Anderson (Sidebottom is an excellent bowler) but your selectors seem to love Anderson (I will say his stats against India are good, but he still can have a tendency to bowl a shit spell).

Bell either bats at 6 or shouldn't be in the Test team. He mentally isn't up to batting at 3.

England 244/3 with a lead 319 just after lunch.

Strauss 102* (to go with his ton in the first innings)

Collingwood 94*

202* run stand between these 2, lets hope they can go past the 300 run stand.

Absolutely magnificent effort here from England considering the preparation and what not, i honestly didnt think that theyd be capable of this effort.

I guess this proves that the Indian team isnt going to take all before it, Signh and Mishra have been disappointing while Khan and Sharma have toiled hard.

These 2 batsmen really dont look like getting out.

Cant see India winning this to be honest, but anything is possible with Sehwag coming in this afternoon.

It reminds me of England V Pakistan in 2005 after the Ashes when England got hammered there after beating us. India just seem like a different team for any of those that arent watching on pay. No intensity in the field, nothing at all from the bowlers. IT just seems that maybe they have had a bit of a hangover after beating us that we talk about so much in the AFL.

England in 2005 and now India in 2008, guess it shows that beating us takes a lot out of teams and they are therefore vulnerable afterwards.

Billy Bowden eating a banana whilst umpiring is a disgrace, the sooner this idiot is booted out of the game the better.

ROFL! That would've been hilarious to see.

Collingwood century and England are going along quite nicely.

Fair bit of intensity shown by Sehwag I thought.

I think what happened in Mumbai last week seems to have effected the Indian team. They looked listless in the field, although Shewag made his intentions pretty clear, the first hour tomorrow will decide if India take up the chase or try and play for a draw.

Why is it a disgrace?

Bananas are one of the best sources of energy available (Source: Man Vs Wild), its bloody hot out there. I have no problem with an umpire keeping a banana or 2 in his pocket and eating it during the break between overs or what not.

Lighten up a bit.

Really?

They've won all matches they've played in after playing Australia and are in a strong position where they can win this test, leading into the last day.

Yeah i believe that firmly.

India will be one of the top 3 teams in the world sure, but this talk of being an unstoppable superpower is totally uncalled for.

They will be one of the top teams but there bowlers looked tame against the English batsmen.

That might be because of the deadness of the pitch. If you watched enough then you'd know that.

I dont think the pitch is that tame .

Also that was what a tame bowling display looks like .England were appaling although its very easy to get rattled by Sehwag .What price Dravid playing a match winning innings .

India top take it easy for the first session then go bananas .England to try and bowl 7 overs per hour

Agree with you on that last point Linda, which is a shame, if England can somehow get 3 in the morning session they're in with a chance but with Yuvraj and Dhoni who can score runs quicker than most in world cricket will lead their team to the win.

There's only one thing worse than watching a passage of play where Sehwag takes your team apart...

.... having to listen to Sunil Gavaskar commentate on it.

Exciting final day coming up, if India can grind out the first session without loosing a wicket then I think it will be a free for all after that. I can't see India winning this one but I would rather them going out with all guns blazing. And you can't play for a draw chasing 250 on the last day if that happens then it's disaster. Shewag proves once again that he is the greatest opening batsman of our time. He has 3 of the fastest triple centurys to this name, don't know what else you need to do to be considered a great, especially opening the innings.

QFT.

The likelihood of us blowing this Test match when we should've had it all but won is going to make Gavaskar & Shastri a nightmare to listen to.
