im not calling for those two to be dropped, but i liked the fact that pears never gave up, bought the ball to ground a number of times when outnumbered and actually chased, something that a lot of the others cant say they did

Thats great but I expect a bit more out of a player representing my club than the ability to bring the ball to ground and chase.

The kid needs a run at Bendigo.

Aye, so do i
but when 15 others on the team arent even doing that, thats when i give the kid some credit
Monfries would be the first one out for mine

12 clearances out of our 30. 80% effective possessions. 30 disposal...

Yeah lets drop him and lose by 150 points next week.

Pendlebury had 30 disposals as well. Who was more damaging Pendlebury or Watson?

Watson is to slow, has made alot of bad decisions and turnovers this year and the disposals he does get just don't hurt the opposition enough.

Maybe I'm being a little harsh on Jobe considering he does most of his work in a contested situation.

I was really impressed with his pace. On more than one occasion he ran down a smaller MF type player which was heartening.

I reckon he is the sort of guy who could end up in the MF.

It is stupid to compare the two. Of course Pendlebury is going to look more damaging because it is the 'Watson type players' feeding him the ball. If we had Pendlebury in our team instead of Watson today we would've lost by about 5 goals more than what we did

Ins - D.Williams, B Duckworth, T Daniher and G Foulds. (At least we know they would show heart even at their age)

Outs - Knights, Camporeale and Prescott

Is it. Watson is more in and under, yes. Both played on ball, both got 30 disposals.

You tell me who you'd rather have the ball in their hands?

The point he is making is that if Pendlebury was in our team he would have barely touched it because noone would have got the ball out to him....

Would have been as effective as Lovett and Stanton.

Yes I relise that....

Pendlebury can get his own ball and can use it. That's the difference.

gees winderlich is a winger and was played in the back pocket for 3/4 of the game, of course you'd expect him to not play as well as he would on the wing.

We were too tall today and didnt have enough small players to release winderlich to his favourite position. Luckily next week some of our runners such as jetta and dempsey come back in.

In: Bellchambers, Myers, Dempsey

Out: Laycock, Fletcher, Gus

Johns may be given another chance.

i no they are tryin to grooom johns as a defender i dont no why. can they jsut play him as a forward and see how he goes. i no the dome mite not suit him but jsut try.

Whats wrong with Fletch, came off but they didn't say?
IN: Jetta, Dempsey, Myers, Daniher/Neagle
OUT: Johns (not up to it), Monfries (im losing faith), Slattery, Laycock

I don't care if we have to play Ryder in the ruck but Laycock must be dropped. He is lazy and isn't showing anything and is showing that he doesn't want to be there

Spot on, that is absolutely spot on. Bringing a bit of pace back into the side, taking the slow ones out. Lloyd and Neagle/Daniher up foward, Mal/Fletch down back with Hille/Ryder in the ruck. THat's plenty. For a running side, they are all the KPP's you need.

Has anyone else noticed how players coming back into the senior side get a stint of two weeks?

I wonder whether there is some kind of rule: "we'll show faith and give you two chances before we send you back down". The most striking example in my mind was when Judd ripped Pev apart, but Pev got another chance the following week...

On this theory of mine, I think Johns will stay in the side next week - it will be justified by the staff as a replacement for Fletch.

I think the players under scrutiny will be: Welsh, Monfries, Laycock...

Give Johns a crack up forward. Leave him there til Lucas gets back. I have no doubt he can make it for you guys, but give up on him as a defender seriously.

Your putting yourself in Shark infested waters by saying that.....

Me and many people have given him too many chances to redeem himself.

Frankly if he's still in the team for next weeks game, he'll have to play the game of his life to redeem my trust.

Believe me he's gotten me in a lot of trubble lately....:thumbsu:

I'd agree that Johns is likely to stay in the side. It wouldn't help his confidence if he's in and out of the squad. He wasn't helped by poor midfield pressure. Same holds true for either attack or defense.

Whether it's system (game plan) or just personnel, the problem over the last few years has been the middle. Now that even the ends are weakening (decline of Lloyd and Fletch), we are looking more ordinary.

I think Pears will be an out, merely to get some confidence back. I like his size and seeming composure but you don't want to batter a player with too many hidings.

From a performance perspective, it could be any number of players. The difficulty is working out who to bring in without looking like an under 18 side.

We have the choice of getting Gumby, Jetta and Dempsey back next week so it'd be hard for Courtney to keep his spot in the team.

Does anyone know if Gumby's playing bendigo this week, or jetta?

Ummm none of those players will be back in next week.

Depsey and Jetta won't be risked until after the week off and Gumby is still atleast 3-4 from playing seniors.

Also, Lucas is still atleast 6-8 weeks away.
