That level of talent doesnt just disappear. its still there.. I just don't think GC are bringing it out of him.

but, for the crows, Rankine’s more of a need. Murphy is sh*t, Rowe looks alright but nothing spectacular. Rachele looks the goods but we need to push him into the middle eventually.

Hawthorn had Franklin and roughhead for a time, plus a second Ruck who would contribute goals, contest a pack.

That's not what Thilthorpe is tracking towards, not fully at any rate. He'll be a dangerous power forward in time, however to reach the absolute max he's capable of, we will need him to be much more. After all, he's a Nick Riedwoldt clone and a key forward who'll be able to do everything to a very high level if he stays healthy/confident if we play our cards right.

The game for us with this rebuild, and what will inevitably decide whether we win a premiership or not, is can we maximize on the talent of Riley Thilthorpe. A key forward who is able to be that power forward style player to partner Thilthorpe (and allow him to max that talent out) is likely to do more for us winning a premiership then any equivalent midfield investment.

It's funny you mention Richmond, as they became a dynasty by recruiting Tom Lynch to partner Riedwoldt.

Remember i got slaughtered for calling Luko overrated on here before he got drafted and interestingly enough not one person on here has yet apologised.

If he has a career peak like Nathan Bock, I mean, it's a solid return for pick 2. Even if he was to never move to a key position and just end up a tall Lachie Whitfield, likelihood you're not disappointed with it.
