Hands up, I was huge to try and get one or both of them right up till recently and whilst I would still be happy to have both, Rankine to me would be the one I would take the punt on if I had to pick. As others say, it would have to be at the right price but who knows, back here with family he might settle and it might pay off.
Having said all that, I'd much much much much rather Jason Horne Francis if there was any way of luring him back. In a shit side, he still looks class when he has the ball and is really hard at it when he hunts the ball and the kid can really fly for the contested marks too

Anyways. Rankine still didn’t do enough. Look at Maurice Rioli Mach 2 for team oriented deeds with small disposal numbers as a comparison of what is needed.

I would prefer Rankine as well, I've mentioned this before but Luko has not of a Jack Watts feel about him.... Very soft footballer

So Luko is off to Port...
I'd take both on our list but I wouldn't be prepared to give up what we would need to in order to get them in.
I do think both will end up back in SA perhaps at the end of the next contract. Gut feel is Luko's preference is Port so I don't think he will ever come to us.

I don’t think they’ve played at pick 2 and 3 level at present but I’ve got faith both will continue to improve. The next 2 years probably more indicative to me where their career trajectory will likely head.
I guess step 1 is we’re happy to keep them
Step 2 is they’re happy to stay
Step 3 is the two sides negotiate and either come to a mutually agreeable contract or not.
Sounds like both boys are at step 3 with luko negotiation going better than rankine so far.
