Seems like tomorrow is the day it all happens.
I have not been keen on losing pick 5, oh well time to get excited about Izak.
Rankine will not be a Pavlich type who never ended up coming, he will be ours. We will have him hopefully for many years to come. Did we ever really think it would happen?
Not sure when he's expected to resume training but would love for him to train with the mids from the get go.

Making gc supporters think we'd be mad about getting rankine for pick 5 instead of our future first in a super draft.
If we felt that way last year, we wouldn’t have got Rachelle. Sydney wanted pick 4 as Dawson had just finished top 3 in their B and F, yet we stood firm and ended up with both.
And if JHF wasn’t on the table and our friends down the road were getting Rankine with 8, we would be kicking and screaming.
Just for reference, Rankine's averages from round 8, through round 16 this past year: 15.5 disposals, 2.6 marks, 2.8 tackles, 2 goals, 1.3 goal assists, 1.6 clearances (basically all from stoppages), 2.3 I50s, 96.5 Supercoach points
Incredible impact at only 22yo. The trick is to get this out of Izak all season long without injury interruption, as that R8-16 period was when he went without an injury break - once he got an injury, he took about a month to get over it (see R4-7 and, to a lesser extent, R18-21). Hopefully Burgess is able to develop some more durability there

At this point in time I’m happy to trade our first rounders for A grade talent, especially for 22 year olds
I have wanted Izak (badly) since the under 18 Championship.
I was concerned that he would never wear a Crows jumper.
Pick 6 is expensive (I would love to get him for zip) but imho he is much better than we could expect from Pick 6.

JHF won’t be wearing any prison bars. He‘ll be straight into their AFL team from round 1. I can’t see him playing too much at SANFL level

Not when they are giving geelong 7 for nothing... given all the concessions they've had ... the whole competition should be up in arms...Pick 5 is fair.
We all hate this because it means this year's draft will be boring

This is what people are getting confused with.
Is Rankine great? Yes.
Do we have a midfield that is building to contend for premierships? Not that I can see.

Zac Taylor will be a gun
Pedlar has AFL weapons and traits, just needs to get his body right
If Harry can clean up his execution then this mix will be able to compete
I'm also bullish about Rankine and Rachele splitting their time between forward and Mid

All this is true, but we need a couple of elite mids, the ones teams will need to tag every week to keep them out of the game. The guys above can be the Libberatore, MacRae, Treloar, but we also need a Bontempelli in there.
