To be fair, things that baffle you isn't a short list.

'maybe he could be elite, who knows' isn't a good enough strategy.
Maybe you should be a recruiting expert since you think you can tell 14 games in he isnt going to be elite , fmd even danger wasnt elite when he started

Butters cracks in with reckless abandon. Has good skills. Soligo looks all class and will just as effectively find the footy. Both look like becoming A graders. I’d be very comfortable with the Crows locking Soligo in for a very long contract. Class you can’t teach and is hard to find.

Surely there needs to be royal commission into the AFL over GC trading with Geelong

Here's some of the lopped sided trades and side trades that facilitated other trades

2011 Geelong receive picks 32 & 34 from GC for pick 26
2017 Geelong receive pick 19 compensation for Motlop so it could go to GC as part of deal for Ablett
2019 CG trade future 1st pick 15 & 64 to Geelong for pick 27 so they could get Sharp. That 1st then come part of the Cameron deal
2020 Geelong receive pick 27 from CG for Mel 2021 3rd round (pick not used)
2022 GC trade Pick 7 and Bowles to Geelong who gives a f**k what was returned
Basically geelong getting all the afl concessions... leading to a premierships.... most premierships are the result of concessions.

We could have Butters. Instead we have Chayce Jones. Yay Haggis
We completely ballsed up Jones though..

A massive fxxk up..

Gooden, pyke and others just ruined his development..

Played him out of position, Godden even tried to turn him into a tagger, prioritised old cooked, injured players over him, dropped him at the very first sign of him struggling..

Completely destroyed the young lads confidence.

And he hasnt fully recovered from it and probably never will.. his first few years at the club were a disaster mostly of the clubs making.

Still.. the morons did the same with Fogarty.. and fog finally emerged from it this year.. in his 5th year at the club.

Lets hope the same thing happens with Chayce in what will be his 5th year next season.

Godden dropped Jones?

Where did I say Godden dropped jones?..

I said gooden tried to turn him into a tagger…
Here....

I think he has shown definite signs of recovery down back, not ideal for a top 10 pick but he looks to have taken over from Brown with a bit more attack in his game. Will he make it back to the midfield? maybe, but not betting my house on it. Will he play 200 games for the Crows? barring a trade out I think he will. There are a lot of top 10 picks that never make the 100 game mark so I think this one will need to be judged down the track.

Correctly me if I am wrong, with Fog it was rather dumb good luck for us that Fog got to play the Cats in Geelong as he was going to be dropped?

Tex was injured?

He kicked 3 goals that day and has never looked back.

You're blind if you don't think butters is a gun.

Soligo does have the traits to be a top line player imo. Whether he gets there is another thing.
Not necessarily blind, just anti-Port bias.

So it’s 5 plus 2nd with maybe 4th coming back

thats a lot

but by end year we will forget quickly when lights up games

If it is that I think it's alot. The 4th is bassicaly useless. People say who cares about a future 2nd but in reality it could be pick 20 in our scenario. I get it could also be a pick in the mid 30's but that's unlikely.

You literally said this:

'That they're potential elites? Nope. Will be good players.'

That says they have no potential to be elite. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you, but you are backtracking.

Read it alongside what I was responding to.

They absolutely have not shown that they belong in that category to date- a position shared by the numpties who are furiously agreeing with me by saying we can't tell yet.

My saying they'll be good players is just me indicating that I like them.

If we can't tell yet, they're not in the column.

My position has not moved. We do not have the elite midfielder requirements met. We've traded away our ability to add to it. This is bad.

Pedlar is 6’1”
Outside of Keays Pedlar is our tallest midfielder atm. Keays is 185cm still a tad under 6'1 and Pedlar is 184cm. But in comparison to our other mids they're kinda giants. :p

For reference JHF is 185cm but I'd be happy for a straight swap with our other 185cm mid @ Port. We are really missing that explosive elite mid 188 or + and we haven't had that since Danger departed at the end of 2015 and by the looks of it, we won't have it in 2023. That is not all that far off a decade.

You've completely written off Jackson Hately I take it?

Don't think Brett Turner makes it?
