I find it interesting to think that people are valuing a speculative undeveloped pick above a genuine four year developing talent. He’ll be worth every cent.

I find it interesting to think that people don't understand what uncontracted means.

So Pick 5 + 3rd Rounder for Rankine according to Ralph.

That's as vanilla as it gets from Reid.
3rd rounder obfuscates what the pick actually is.

It'll be about pick 42, or the same value we received for Jarryd Lyons.

So 5 + 42-ish and a swap of fourths

Real yucky

Nah…

3rd and after are junk speculator picks anyway..

Who gives a toss if its pick 5 and the swap of a couple of junk picks..

So we're paying a premium for a guy who will probably suffocate under Nick's shitty defensive game-plan and extending our half a decade long run of not recruiting any elite mids. 🤦‍♂️
Rankine will do well in the back pocket, mark my words. :D

I struggle to care too much about trading third round picks and beyond. Don't get me wrong, you often get good players from 3rd round picks, but the same can be said for 4th or 5th round picks. Hell, sometime we throw away those picks because we've finished drafting by then. A 3rd round pick really doesn't amount to much. If we're talking Pick 5, then throwing a pick in the 40s for next year is small fry. Negligible difference. Irritating from an optics perspective, but in real terms it means bugger all.

If it's a second round pick, that's a different story, especially for a team likely to be weak. It would be a big shame to give that up in addition to pick 5.

we all do know about UNCONTRACTED but

we know Gold Coast don’t value picks

risk not worth taking I get it

they are dumb and may well be happy loose rankine nothing make point

just them

any other club screw them down

goldcoast we just don’t know

not worth taking chance loosing potential star for crows

i get it

a crept be what it will be

we got Izzy now

still a big win

cant get everyone for Dawson value

accept it and welcome Izzyj

he said we need to overpay to get the deal across, i think thats a garbage take
I don't depending on what the sweetener is...I highly doubt it will be the 2nd that you and some seem to be intimating, more likely a swap of 2023 later picks would be my guess at this point.

The same boffins that have a crack at the club for never going all out to bring in elite talent now haggling over paying up for it. IMO there is not one player in this draft with the supreme talent and potential Izak possesses...our job will be making his full potential a reality.

“Izak will be dealt to Adelaide today, this deal will go through in the coming hours,” Edmund said on SEN Mornings.

“It will be for pick five but not pick five on its own. The Suns want selections in next year’s draft.

“There’s some academy kids coming through, there will be a sweetener here in some way for the Suns.

We selected Zac Taylor at pick 44. Soligo just a few picks earlier

Sam Edmund would think we’ve got the cap space after missing out on Dawson last year
