JUH got rewarded with 7 coaches votes against Brisbane
Daniher kicked 0.4 and Hipwood's a terrible kick for goal. I'm not surprised a forward who can actually kick straight got votes.
His work with Naughton is improving vastly. Compare him with even the start of last year and they are hardly flying for the same ball anymore

Does anyone know the indigenous song and band that accompanied this interview please?

How well is he tracking has been one of the highlights this season accept for his goal kicking. He is starting to live up to the number 1 pick and become one of the best key forwards in the competition. His marking will only get better with a bit more strength and he is fantastic below is knees for a key position player.

He is a really good field kick and more often than not misses to the left with his goal kicking. A bit of a slice in golfing terms which appears to be his ball drop with set shots. Hopefully this is easily fixed with the right practice and coaching.

We could be seeing one hell of a player next season.

His ball drop has completely changed over this off season. He holds the ball towards the bottom and underneath (his left hand). Makes it virtually impossible to drop it straight consistently.

This is the way Fev kicked the ball and it worked for him. He is not tracking Mia Fevola anymore so not sure why he be taking any advice from Brendan.

I'm not worried about his goal kicking too much, as long as it doesn't impact his confidence and other parts of his game which it clearly hasn't. He is a lovely kick and I think it will sort its self out. The way that he is marking and jumping at the ball is the much harder thing and he is dominating that. He is tracking very well.

I can remember a time when Buddy Franklin and Tom Hawkins had the yips when they were young. Marra has a nice kicking action just needs to get his routine right so that's much more fixable than a wonky or ugly kick.

4 goal assists and 3 contested marks yesterday. He's really playing a complete game at the moment other than his goalkicking. It's a shame because he deserves some rewards for his play.

He's definitely showing the superstar traits that we all saw before he was drafted.

Have to admit that I wasn’t convinced that he matched the hype pre draft. Seemed to me like a very good lead and mark player on the end of a dominant midfield. But he’s now starting to take marks at the highest point and doing so through contact, which is promising.

I’m still not sure what the finished product looks like for him, or if he’ll even end up in a traditional KPF role. He seems almost like he could be a taller version of Robert Murphy when he was a brilliant CHF, burning off defenders across the flanks and up the wings and being a key cog between defence and attack.

You don't have to look any further than what Geelong are doing with Cameron to see how he should be used when he really hits his straps. Give him license to roam the field and use his deadly field kicking and then float back into the forward to take advantage of any mismatches.

I think both he and Naughton would be excellent in a system that generates opportunities to outrun their opponent back toward goal.

And ironically, Lobb probably works best as the deep leading target but we seem to have all their roles misaligned.

Loving his work up the ground and on the lead at the moment, been fantastic. Suspect the set shot woes are getting to him though. I was sitting at that end and he looked visibly shattered after missing that goal after the siren, dropped his head and I think it might've been Hannan that went up to him and patted him on the head and had a chat.

He has generally been a solid set shot for us but from memory his set shots and field kicking were two of the bigger knocks on him at junior level? Hope it's just a lull and not a regression to the mean.

What is hard to work out why so many beautiful field kicks like Bont and Marra have trouble with a set shot at goal. To hit a smaller target like your team mate from 30 to 40 metres away would think be harder than kicking it through the goals from a set shot.

Why is it so maybe need to call

th

The most obvious thing to me is in the head and I liken to when I play golf. The long putt you are trying to put in the hole but anywhere close is acceptable so no pressure. The shorter putts you feel the pressure because you expect it to go in the hole and if you miss it, it is a failure.

The other most obvious reason is more often than not a field kick to a team mate is taken on the run and not kicked on 0ver man on the mark.

I guess they are to different skills even though both require accurate kicking skills and like anything to improve you need practice and good coaching the more confident you are the less negative thoughts creep into your head.
