AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
There's that yes, unless we have wind that Port are genuinely in the game.
That’s laughable if true.
Exactly. Even if we split #4, it would be because we want both of the resulting picks e.g. 7 & 15 - not so we can give one of them up in the Dawson trade. Plus, IMO, if we were contemplating such a split it would be for a live trade on draft night, not in advance.I think I would prefer pick 4. If we want to split 4 it would be on our terms such as 7 and 15 which we take to the draft. I don't think we should split though if we really want a particular player at 4
Whether it’s true or not - is it a play from us to make us look like the ‘good guys’ in these dealings? It's Theo. He's been fed that directly from the club.
Yes, Syd delists Dawson because he refuses to sign a playing ContractApologies if this has already been answered previously, but what is the exact process for going through the PSD? Does he have to wait for Sydney to delist him after the trade period, then nominate?
Say he puts himself in there with a demand for a 1 year, $1m contract and somebody else picks him up before us anyway, would he become a free agent for life (due to having been previously delisted by Sydney) at the end of next season?

If so, I like it. That deal is obviously ludicrous for us
Quite possible / likely. But there'll be a clock ticking on that, because the Bulldogs will have their own timeline. And the Swans will know that. Probably right now, and assuming of course that the media speculation is accurate, all 3 clubs will know the timeline / deadline. And it very likely will be sooner rather than later, because if they're not getting the trade from us the Bulldogs will want to move on and do a deal with someone else. That's a reason why the Dawson trade probably won't go down to the last day, because the deadline (for the availability of pick 17) will be well before that. They said last night that the Crows offered Pick 17 and that the deal included some pick swaps
It's possible that it's the ancillary picks swaps that's holding up the deal.
I tend to agree that 17 will be around the mark and there will most probably be steak knife pick swaps to get the deal over the line.

No it's not .....it's just pure idiocy on behalf of Sydfu** me that's an ambit claim if i've ever seen one
Correction:I really hope Reid slammed his laptop shutand walked out of the room
Yes, Syd delists Dawson because he refuses to sign a playing Contract
The lifetime Free Agent status, which I'm not sure has been formalised, only applies to players with UFA status
So Dawson puts a front ended $1M first year, $550+ for each of the reaming 4 years ......one of North, Coll, GC have to have the TPP room to accommodate
Coll / GC won't have either the TPP room or List spots ......North will, but highly unlikely they would take a bloke whose sole rationale for leaving SYD is to go home
So PSD is likely a 95% chance of being effective with Dawson
