Hello mate. Port are able to offer a better salary with Bloods supplement and a more acceptable trade than the Crows are offering.

By way of background the four Northern Clubs are increasingly refusing to be used as talent humidicribs. Lines have been drawn in the sand against Adelaide and a few Vic Clubs.

But for being stupid.

Loving this deal for us on a number of fronts.

1. We get a future 1st which adds to the currency for next year for uncontracted Suns onslaught
2. It sticks up the middle finger at Swans and their demands. Now there is no pick 23 or 44 to use this year and we sure as hell are not trading pick 4 and unlikely to trade Melbourne's or our future 1st.

PSD here we come.

Couple of ways it could go now all up

Out: 23, 37, 44
In: Dawson, 33 - giving up Melbourne 2022 1st to Sydney

Out: 2022 2nd, 23, 37, 44
In: Dawson, Melbourne 2022 1st - giving up future 2nd and 33 to Sydney

Those deals look pretty good if we don't offer anything more

(I'm not counting the 4th rounders we lost given we wouldn't have used them)

I’m not sure if we can trade that now we’ve traded a future 4th?
I thought it was just future 1sts thats the main issue.

Then again, Geelong were able to do anything they wanted as it was part of the Victorian fairytale to get Danger to them.

Loving the thought process behind this 4 team deal. Stash up for picks next year :D
Presuming we've done this to keep MELB's 2022 1st ......or will that pick be used for Dawson ?

I'd be happy with either of those deals actually

Yeah if you trade a 1st you can’t do others, thought it was the same in reverse.
Geelong was different, I think originally you had to use one first rd pick in a rolling 4 years (unless geelong)

First option looks good for all parties. Sydney should be happy with Melbourne 2022 1st (15-18).

At worst we'll most probably give Sydney Pick 33 and Melbourne 2022 future 1st.

33+18 (if Melb win the flag in 2022) equates to Pick 9

If that ends up happening then we would have traded 23, 37 and 43 for Dawson.

Does it work for Keays though because we never delisted him and he has changed clubs?? It should only apply if they stay at the same club I think

Yup, he's been delisted at a football club before, so he's an FA for life.

23, 37 and Jake Kelly ;)

I don't think we'll do that without another pick coming back though

We might as well go target another "contracted" legitimate A grader if we're giving up anything even close to what Sydney want....Dawson's a nice get but no bloody way is he even close to a game breaker.
Never said he was a 'game-breaker' as such (although, given the opportunity, I believe he could be), but he's still our biggest target since Gibbs. That's not a question, he's a MUCH better player right now than Stengle/Frampton/Hately/Hinge were

I don't think we will include 33, as then that basically gives us 1 pick in this draft. Unless we are looking at splitting pick 4
