We've got Hogan and Boyd (technically) as the top end KPPs this year. Will there be more than one or two in next year's top 5? Over the last five years it's really seemed to stall early.

texdog has answered it for me but Goddard certainly at probably pick 1 at this point.

McCartin looks a top 10 and very possible top 5 selection so he might be that option next year if Boyd doesn't happen.

Sam Durdin and Jesse Watchman would be ahead of McCartin for mine.

I'd like another year to see who is the no.2 key forward but Goddard for now is my no.1.

Handy KPP group next year with Keital and Moore also in there.

Next year WA has.

Ai Su @192 , Keitel @ 193, Bevan @ 193 and J.Cripps @ 196.

Ai Su is more of a utility though.

John Baird if you are ok going with a guy who is 30+ is the best player not in the AFL.

George Hampson (WA - util). Braydn O'Hara (SA - util). Mat Suckling (SA - inside mid). Can't go wrong with any of them.

Great, great call on the 19 year olds. It's not just Garlett either. Herbert, Langdon, Glenn, J.Scott, Pongracic, Haynes. There's some excellent guys who are worth a shot and should have been drafted last year.

Does Mat Suckling from SA related at all to Matthew Suckling at the Hawks

Been meaning to ask this but this years buzz player seems to be this kid Freeman.

Snoop Dog, what downfalls are you referring to with him?

Knighta summation I think was good post you asking. To be fair I dont want to give the impression of downfalls its just there are some things that I think arent as good as 10 or so before him who I would probably have ahead of him. He is the player though that shows terrific AFL attributes but consistency is the key. Many AFL recruiters will tell you they dont have to see a kid get 30+ possessions but they want to see development scope so kids who might only get 15 touches but show genuine talent and look like they can be developed can still go quite high...its just a question of how high.

For me he is still in the 10-20 range and I wouldnt be at all upset if the Pies took him with their first selection which I suspect will be circa 10 anyway the way we are travelling!

KM and Chris25, were would you put Taylor Adams in this years draft? Top ten?

Knightmare who is the best pure crumber in the draft?

Billings is the highest level forward and while he can crumb I'd still call him more of a marking forward.

Ask anyone and you'll get a different answer but Jay Kennedy-Harris for me is that best pure crumber.

Nothing on Franetic Knightmare?

Franetic may enter the draft mix.

He's mostly played for Scotch College so he's only played the 5 TAC Cup games so far this season. I'd like to see what he can do in the back end of the season in the TAC to really get a better feel for where he is at, but as a 3rd round onwards selection he could be in the picture as one of many considered as a rotational forward/midfielder.

Knightmare,

Love your work.

What is the main reason you would see the dogs overlooking Kelly to go for Billings?

Both are absolute top end users of the footy. I just think Billings has a few more tricks.

It really comes down to whether you want more of an effective linkup type (Kelly) or someone who can not only take marks in the front half and convert from his opportunities but also be a real playmaker and give that quality delivery to the forwards (Billings).

From what I've seen of McDonald, he has a bit of hodge about him with that sort of toughness and leadership. North definitely have a star on their hands there. I am really interested though in who you think will make the biggest instant impact at AFL level, say.. your wines of this year's draft crop. who will be able to walk in and collect 30 touches on debut in round 1? (30 is a bit of an exaggeration) I picked it would be wines last year and it's always something I try and predict.

Oops, correction, in 2009:
On the day Hawthorn redrafted him as had been arranged, the recruiter read out the wrong registration number at the rookie draft, momentarily selecting another Matt Suckling, Sandringham Dragons' best-and-fairest player in the under-18 competition.

I know your not asking me but I'd choose Lewis Taylor, ready made player who gets the hard ball aswell as bursting away from packs, perfect type to dominate from round 1

McDonald I think will be excellent. He's really struggled badly with injury this year which is why he hasn't performed all that stronger in the VFL or u18 champs relative to what he can achieve at his best. When healthy he's a harder Trent McKenzie or something similar to a Goddard so he's an exciting and absolute top end talent. If healthy there is no reason why he can't play round 1 - he's more talented than the vast majority of the North Melbourne list which is less a criticism of the talent on North's list as it is a compliment to McDonald.
He won't be good for 30 touches. But a damaging 15 disposals is more what he can produce in his first season and once developed probably somewhere around 20, perhaps low 20s which is still excellent from a guy who does the damage McDonald does.

I'd say Matt Crouch is the Wines of this draft who can give you that immediate production as that inside midfielder. He's not quite as tall or strong bodied but he can play round 1 and really have that impact right away if you want him to.

Everything I've seen of him at TAC level has been excellent though.

Not disagreeing. Just most of what I've seen of him was from last year and I'd like to see a couple more games first before adding him to my draft. He's in my next couple and still has the opportunity to work his way into my power rankings after being in there preseason.

Taylor will have a big impact right away. So many of those smalls do coming into football clubs looking better than anyone and he looks like one of the better small we've had - better than Ben Kennedy last year anyway in my view with a better mix of outside to go with some ability inside.
I do however have some questions about Taylor's tackling and just how far he can as a small take his game. Brent Harvey is the exception to the rule and evidence that it can be done as a sub 175cm type who can really dominate but others to me anyway just feel like safe selections who can contribute but rarely if ever have star potential.

KM, any chance of L.Hunt from the knights getting a look in as a rookie?

Hunt has been solid through that Knights midfield. He could be in the draft mix. Not a top end talent but as a rookie it only takes one team to like his game. The stronger he closes out the season the better with clubs looking for that improvement over the second half of the season.

Any ideas on Queensland boys? Boys that have been playing neafl all year. Like Rogerson, Mills, Hay and Rutledge. All could and would be good enough for a list.

Knightmare or anyone else for that matter, are you able to direct me
Somewhere or have a list of the Victorian state screening? I believe they
Were released today
