Kurt Tippett HAS to play Forward most of the game.

There is no point Tippet playing in the ruck. Whenever he was at full forward we looked dangerous! I also reckon Sellar and Jacky should play next game. We need targets up forward and small crummers. Sellar looked good in pre season and its worth giving him a shot at the big time. If youngsters like Tippet, Sellar, McKay and Jacky can develop this year it will make it easier for Dangerfield next season.
Neither Sellar or Jacky are ready yet. They both need to earn their stripes 1st.

I would drop Doughty before anyone. I am sure as hell not an AFL footballer but if I cranked up my fitness a bit I could do what Doughty does and run along, receive a handball from Andrew Mcleod and give a 2m handball to Scott Thompson or Simon Goodwin. He really doesn't do a lot, is soft as butter, rarely takes responsibility and when he does most times he stuffs it up. Don't like to be negative but there you go

The ONE THING Doughty isnt is soft as butter. He stuffs up most of the time but he is not soft. He is as tough as they come in our squad all pre-season he showed it and again today in his tackling. In saying that though especially now we have the youth policy i think he shouldnt be in our team. Only a player we need while we have injuries. Nobody can say he is part of are future.

As for Tippett he should stay at FF most of the time except when he isnt get much of the ball there he should pinch hit him in the ruck.

All entitled to opinions but I disagree with you. I think he puts in 110% and he is hard at the ball and does countless gutsy things a game. His disposal is sometimes a concern but he warrants his spot

Kenny had a poor game, mainly resulting from a heavy hit that he copped in the first quarter. To his credit he bounced back to still contribute and in what was a poor game he still kicked 2 goals. Welsh led our goalkicking with 49 last year, which is about 2 goals a game. Ken is worth his spot every day of the week without question.
As for where to play Tippett/Burton/McGregor well Kenny has to play either FF or forward pocket IMO, where you can rely on him to kick 2-3 goals every game. Tippett looks able to play in either line up forward, probably preferable FF or forward pocket but its an option. Out of all 3 I would most like to see Burton play on the half forward line, with his amazing athleticism he can run around anywhere, move up the ground and also drop deeper on occasion as he does and be a pain in the butt for any defence.
When Gill returns from injury I would like to see him play in a similar role to what Charlie Gardiner is for the Saints, leading out, kicking long into the forwardline and moving the ball quickly. Before he can play as a true forward option his kicking has to improve. If you cant kick you cant play, especially as a forward, end of story.

Not trying to single you out and pick on you, but, I thought Kenny was ok and Matthew Richardson would get a game with any team in the AFL and the guy can not kick, end of story:D

I reckon that with his athleticism he'd be wasted as a key forward. I'd rather have him as a ruckman who pinch-hits forward, a la Cox, Spider or Clark Keating. He's a big enough unit to take care of himself in most centre bounces, too.

So Franklin is wasted up forward because of his athleticism?;) Whilst I do agree with you to an extent, I think his athleticism would make him one of the hardest forwards to match up on as not only being a 201 cm beast, few similar sized defenders would have the pace or ground skills to go with him. His pack marking gives us something we have missed for about 10 years up forward and whilst it is a matter of opinion, i think a tall marking forward of Tippet's ilk is much more valuable/harder to find than a mobile ruckman and for us probably more important.

That's the crux of it.

Kurt musr play as a permanent forward

He straightens up our sryle of play, as displayed on the w/end he is not just a pack mark he is also good on a lead, most importantly, IMO he creates space for Birdman, because Tippett is starting to draw 2 defenders

Rhe midfield kick to Tippett with confidence, this kid is a gun

But tht is the thing. Tippett can play short too, his ground work for a 201cm bloke is quite good, heck it is good for any bloke. He is wasted in Ruck.

Couldn't agree more with Tippett and his ground work. He doesn't actually look that tall on TV but seeing as he's 201, he's very athletic. I wouldn't say he's a waste. With that mobility, he could turn into an excellent mobile ruckman.
