Remember when St Kilda jettisoned a utility that had become unable to affect games on his own and an outside midfielder in Goddard and Dal Santo and most of the football community was like, hmmm, not sure about that, not good list managing from the Saints?

But Hinkley turfs Wingard and Howard, gives up Pittard for nothing, and is part of a group that don't come to the table on a Polec deal, and it's like, brave and courage moves!

So what happened to the historical website that KT announced was a week away?

lol I'm still waiting on the sponsor they said they'd announce early in 2018.

I buckled today & agreed to sell some lottery tickets for the club. Apparently the funds will go towards a museum and redevelopment of Alberton Oval, the lady said.
Featuring the Shroud of Maffra you'd hope

Rucci on SEN this am...

“The bonds between the three Ks are far weaker than they were in 2013”

“Koch not as supportive of KT as he should be. Threw him under bus regarding failed sponsorship”

“They have put All the GFG money into this financial year to make finances look good”

“There are some people who are eyeing KT’s chair”

“Supporters need to find a way to vent their dissatisfaction while still financially contributing to the club as Port’s finances are fragile and if we expect improvement later on we will be bitterly disappointed as club will be hamstrung and limited in what it can do, we will send them broke.

Just because supporters think they are doing their bit to improve the club’s future by walking away, they will do exactly the opposite.

Rucci is a puppet for the PAFC.

"Hey, Ruch - can you please peddle some line on the radio so that we save ourselves the embarrassment of losing 5,000 members in our 150th next year".

Supporters have tried absolutely everything to enact some change within this club, but the club don't seem to listen. So if we want to give up memberships to make a point, then that's exactly what we're going to do. PAFC always seem to blame the supporters. So sick of their shit.

So this is a scare campaign to try and get people to renew their memberships.

100%

And even in this they think its about nothing more than ’venting dissatisfaction’.

Classic NuPort patronising

edit: which is totally in line with sending Richo to hear complaints the club has no intention of acting on

The supporters are jumping off because the club has changed, and is no longer run for the members anymore.

Yes there are quite a few who jump off purely due to on field results, but that’s the nature of the game.

The club has chosen in recent years to give the finger to the die hards and market to the customer like bandwagoners.

It’s a catch-22 for members because we need to keep the club afloat, but at the same time this regime needs to **** off and the club needs to go back to it’s roots. It’s also a lot to ask for people to throw money at a sinking ship.

Obviously we aren’t going to contend regularly while we are paying under the salary cap, being held to ransom by our unsuccessful and very unpopular head coach, and generally floundering in debt. So if the club wants to win back supporters they need to get the off field stuff completely right.

Unfortunately I really don’t think they give a shit about the passionate section of the supporter base. Which absolutely sucks because the further we get into debt the more leverage the AFL has over us.

The rot absolutely started when Choco was still coach, but this regime could go down in history as the one that sunk us. Why on earth would Rucci think the members want to bail them out?

This is the problem with marketing to the bandwagoners.

They are the loud majority but when things don't go as planned they just jump to the next shiny thing (i.e. GWS).

The ones who are willing to call the club to task do so because they care about the club and want to be here for the long term.

They are the ones who should be listened to.

"Please bail out our rampant mismanagement and long term lack of accountability"

I wonder at which point this mess really started?

When we failed to win the first SA AFL license, so were absolutely hamstrung from the beginning?
When we lost good people and didn’t capitalise fully on 2004?
Was it when Walsh left?
When Ken was prematurely signed to a generously lengthy contract?
Or does it go as far back to 2007 where many are saying the club refused to deal with the fallout from the revord breaking GF capitulation?

We can get over this.

I was a Patriots fan in the 80s when they were a little blue collar club and got hammered in the Superbowl 46-10 by Chicago.

15 years later they became a dynasty.

2022 will be our year once we replace Koch, Hinkley, and Co-Jonas with Kraft, Belichick, and Brady. Easy peasy.

I'd say a cumulative effect of all of them, but the second one really rang the warning bells for me at the time.

2004 was the beginning of the end. Everyone viewed it as job done, as opposed to viewing it as the beginning of something special.

We were always heading for troubled waters off-field from the get-go with the SANFL criminals & the Crows getting a 6 year head start on the Adelaide market.

Nonsense, the move to Adelaide Oval reset any pre-move issues and gave the club a blank slate and a fresh start with a 'Port' identity.

Any of the current issues can only be connected to things that have happened SINCE then!

It's Koch vanilla and Hinkley's total lack of coaching ability. Simple.

We still have to navigate around lousy stadium deals etc. so it becomes harder when you keep on a dud like Hinkley and attendances drop.
