Win this and we're in the Grand Final of the Nab Cup for just the second(?) time, not that it means too much. I would like to see the likes of Waters, Naitainui, Rosa, Embley, Butler, A.Selwood, Mackenzie and maybe Shuey and Kennedy (if fit) get a run, I don't know about Butler and Waters returning in the same week though, we don't want two season ending injuries in one match :p

Discuss.

Yeah I want the win. It means we get a week of better media coverage and decent time slot on tv (these are things that don't happen much in Vic). Plus I'm still annoyed about 05 and want a pre season cup to go with out soon to be 4 real cups.

Even after an intra club game on the weekend, Saints would likely be in not a great shap weather looked terrible.

I only want to win this to be guarenteed live TV coverage for the following week :)

Suffered not watching the game this week.

Hey guys sorry to intrude on your board but due to a death in my family I will be unable to attend the game and have 5 general admission tickets and 1 Jnr ticket available if anyone wants them. I live in the Joondalup area so if anyone would like them just send me a PM.

A win would be great, imagine the Saints would have a full engine room with NDS, BJ, Joey, Lenny and McEvoy so will be a great hit out as those lads who are still some of the best in the comp.

Saints have a lot of good small forwards as well, i think this is where we often struggle - containing those skillful smaller players, so again something to work on.

Really sorry about your loss mate. Kudos for offering up the tickets on our board.:thumbsu:

I want a convincing, unrelenting win with something close to our best 22 on the field. But I also want no injuries and no fatigue with no clues to our improved game plan let out either. Make it happen Woosha.

I hope we don't go in with a understrength team knowing a win is a GF spot.
Saints always play well against us so a win would be good.

Mmm . . I'm with Suma_Magic on this one. We should simply stick with getting just the right amount of work into each of our guys; the outcome of this match is secondary - TV issues included. Not feeling obliged to name our near best line-up the following week would also be a blessing if we were to lose to the Saints.

That said, I am tipping the Saints to be playing in late September - I think most punters are under-rating the Saints - at their peril. There are good odds of $21 for a Saints premiership on offer, and I have taken a nibble of that - and of the $17 on offer about WCE.

My main wishes will be for no injuries and a solid work out.

I'd be staggered if we aren't putting close to our best team on the park in Rd 4 regardless. That's really the only round of NAB cup that counts when teams are generally gearing up for Rd 1.

The boys will have a fortnight off afterwards - so no need to keep them rested.

It's a tough one but I'll trust the coaching staff to make the best decision for the team to begin playing the best footy possible on April 1.

Having said that, given this is a fan forum, I would like to see Nic Nait, Rosa, Waters, E Mac, Stevenson, and Murray Newman have a run. Unless there's a reason Newman hasn't played yet (injury?).

Seeing what Strijk can do after summer would also be advantageous.

Strijk's the major concern, practically unspoken of and unsighted this preseason. Is he injured? If he doesn't have a great year in the WAFL he's spot on the list is very very shaky which is a shame as he has the skills and dynamic ability to have an impact in our best 22.

Strijk definitely has the attributes to be a quality AFL level footballer.

Size, great mark, strength, aggression and great skills.

His problem though is fitness/workrate related, injury largely preventing him from developing a solid fitness base in past years.

Would suck if we lost him, though he was making solid coin before being picked up by us, so hopefully things work out for him (relatively) either way.

With our style of pressing play, players that have these attributes will be consistently picked over Strijk. I like him as a player but IMO he will move clubs and it may be the best thing for him...

Good depth player to have up our sleeve atm though!

Got as large part of that
