Hardly surprising since the Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp was the secretary of state in the gubernatorial election in charge of electoral matters in the election in which he was standing for office and refused to recuse himself. In the year leading up to the election he was instrumental in having 500,000 people kicked off electoral rolls, the ensuing debacle on election day not only deprived those people a vote but caused chaos and delays on election day.
Upon winning the election Kemps campaign manager became a lobbyist for a company vying for a contract to replace all the states voting machines, needless to say despite having no experience in a job that big that company was given the contract. Which bring us back to last nights primaries where machines didn't work or workers weren't properly trained how to use them, combine that with the state refusing to make it easier to vote by mail and we have a demonstration of democracy Republican style.
The Republicans are currently spending 20 million dollars to try and thwart states making it easier to cast absentee votes, it is clear they are trying to stop people, especially black people from voting to improve their chances in November. It will be a shit show.

To be fair, the Democrats also promote loosening of voting regulations, because they generally win elections when voter turnout is high. Both sides are self serving in this regard.

Australia Post has stopped delivering to my house so I can't imagine the AEC will be terribly impressed having to go and collected tens of thousands of ballots during their lunch break

There is a difference between postal votes and absentee votes .

Sure they should exist for genuine absentee for not being in the country or the state .

Or for remote locations.

Our absentee ballots are strictly regulated to ensure that there in no fraud . These should be applied for before hand and ID provided .

But the American system where it is not compulsory to vote it then becomes problematic. Stories of thousands of absentee ballots being pasted around for people to sign .

Not even having to be a US citizen to post one in .

Sounds like a very easy way to rig elections .
