Concerned even if we give up pick 43 for Parker, and potentially 25 for Daniel (as is being rumored) - even with something coming back it leaves us very light on for picks in this draft.

I'd rather bring in new talent this year with at least 3 picks rather than trading it all on other clubs rejects.

Drafting is a numbers game. The more picks you use the more chance you have of snaring good players.

If you go in with only 2 decent picks and miss on one or both of them, all of a sudden you have a hole in your list build. Which doesn’t get filled by other teams fringe players and 30+ yr olds.

Don’t kid yourself, we are not flush with as much young talent as people think.

I'm not kidding myself, that's why I said I was concerned with trading out all of our picks for Darling, Parker and potentially Daniel.

I think it was very clear this season about our so-called breadth of young talent, specific example when we had a few injuries across our midfield, showed just how short on depth we are.

I wouldn't be too concerned yet. If we split 2 or move our F1 then we'll get more picks in those ways. I'd love to keep 25 and 43 and give up future picks first as at least we can trade back in to recover position next year.

Not sure if this has been mentioned b4 but I see Josh Fahey is in limbo without a contract. I vaguely remember reading we maybe into him this trade period. Left footer who can play HB/wing. Has some dash. Has anyone heard anything? Would be a good get imo.
PMBangers any idea why he hasn’t be offered a contract at GWS?
We are clearly targeting experienced minds and bodies so I doubt we'd be entertaining trading for him given the apparent depth of this years draft. Wait and see who is without a contract and falls into the DFA basket and decide if they better fill list needs than our own current uncontracted players. No point trading for them given the depth of the draft. I don't know much about Josh but suspect he falls into that category or other clubs would be circling.

Yeah my ideal is F3 for Luke P, but 43 or whatever it is should be fine.

Just looking at the 20-50 range picks held that might be absorbed in F/S and NGA bids and I reckon that 44 will come in a lot earlier depending on what pick equivllant the teams get after matching. I've probably missed a few as well but I would think the bolded picks would be pretty safe to say they get absorbed in bids. Camporeale or Champion less certain.
It could move in 8 spots potentially from pick 44. That's too much for Parker imo.

Blues 34 (Ben Camporeale?), Bombers 31 (Kako), GC 23, 29, 41 (Lombard), WCE 26 (Champion?), Port 39 (Barrett?), Tigers/Lions - 24, 32, 42, 43, 45 (Ashcroft & Marshall). Crows 46 (Welsh)

You're right Chubbs, off that! F3 best we can do!

Clarko and Viney are desperate for improvement. They realise if we are 1 & 10 at the bye with a % of 70, they're gone, ala CBS Coleco Vision. Bradley Rawlings may also be out on a limp.

The one positive is the round 24 win vs the Suns in 2023 did the opposite of setting up a winning culture, so maybe the disaster of the last 2 games of 2024, will do the opposite of setting up a losing culture. Just spewing the AFL didn't warn you guys not to tank before those last 2 games of '24.
