I’ve liked Jaegars game. He’s looked more dynamic and along with Silk capable of using the ball well when in possession. Fingers crossed for his best season yet.

Really? I haven’t seen anything from JOM that suggests he is anymore than a run of the mil midfielder. I’m searching for this extra level everyone talks about, I just don’t see it.

2 tackles inside 50 in the 1st half. We're letting teams off the hook too easily. Ollie has at least looked dangerous defensively but Poppy unfortunately hasn't. I hope it's just a bit of rustiness but seems to have forgotten were to position himself at the drop of the ball. The point of getting Patto across was so these small guys can get to his feet consistently yet all I'm seeing is Patton battling 3 guys on the ground as well. Either workrate is poor or they are not up to it. Again I reiterate hoping it's merely blowing the cobwebs out.

Harry been very good. He is working his butt of and has shown good guts a few times. He might be back. Scrimmers plays round one for sure. Big issue with playing a tall team that isn’t taking contested marks. So sick of us going into a forward line with two on three or four. When Cyril was playing a poppy at his best this could work cause they could win a two on four. Current forwards can’t do that.

Until he has another niggle. A lot to like with him though.

cant stand Max Gawn. He’s a real creep. Every time I see him I think of the time he was on the footy show and admitted he doesn’t always wipe after number 2s. A real sicko.

but he will cope better than most with the toilet paper shortage.

If this was a home and away game I'd want my money back.

Skills have been shocking, structurally we've mixed things up a bit and been pretty heavy on rotating players into different spots within a line.

The skills are a concern for both sides, some really amateur level stuff.

Hard to pick a few standout players as the game has failed to have any flow. Hacking is the game plan for both teams in the first half.

Our tackling and our handballs are a recurring theme every year. You would think it was something easy to fix.

I must be watching a different game to anyone saying that Ceglars being manhandled. Also although he’s been fairly quiet JOM looks to be playing less inside which will be more obvious as games become more open in the second half (hopefully). Posititiong is good by hanrihan but not sure about his decisions or disposal.

as high price recruits, wingers seem In front of jaegs

We used to be known for a team who could lock the ball in the forward 50.. that’s not happening this year.

jesus. We did it all last year. It’s a half in a pre season game where we’re trying a few things and trying not to get injured

Look I didn't see any better than the first quarter, Still happy with Cegs, still disappointed with those I mentioned the exact same lot.

Petracca is ripping us a new one much like Hill did first game, no response from our coach to stop in either game, not the end of the world but noticeable.

Frawley solid, Bruest when he feels like it (may not be on the ground at other times) trying to keep us in it.

Worpel been horrid two games in a row. I love him but his footskills have gone backwards based on well a whole two games but tis a worry.

We are though also playing a lot of players out of position.

Biggest concern is pace, Melbourne ain't known as fast but they are making us look super slow on transition.

Finally is 6/6/6 invoked during these games? Late in the quarter we took the ball out of the centre to kick to a 4 on 1 contest. If it was 6 on 6 that's almost impossible straight out of the centre.

We are in all sorts once the ball hits the deck in the forward 50.. Pop is not a high pressure fwd anymore, really only playing by default and Ollie does next to nada defensively, the only guy who looks capable is Silk and possibly Nash who has impressed me a bit.

Yeah, not sure what to make of this, as a full round 1 rehearsal our whole game style looks rather hideous to watch.
Which makes you wonder how injury prone Minchington was because he would walk into a small forward role right now. Be interesting to see if we end up looking foolish by not taking a punt.

How do commentators still talk about a 3 goal breeze on this ground... It swirls and is always tough at each end.
No such thing as a "3 goal" wind anywhere. Call it a 5 meter wind you can kick further and opponents kicks drop short.

It's just ancient coaching trick to make players believe that they should outscore by at least 3 goals or the coach will be fuming.

Buddy gotta stop worrying about how much we paid for him, he's ours now and gotta take what we've got.
