I thought it was a bit against the spirit of a practice game but it was really great to see. Our blokes were switched on and ready to go while the Injectors looked like they'd all had a snooze on the bus.
What? You mean the injectors didn't fly down?

So confused........

Rewatching the replay Windhager checks his left hand at around 45 seconds in after laying a strong tackle on Merrett. Plays on for at least another 10 minutes until we see him in the hands of the trainer at the 14 minute mark.

He’s clearly as tough as they come. He was setting the tone physically in the opening minutes of the match sim.

Agree I thought he was looking really sharp, its a shame he was injured. It would have been nice to see how he went with a full game in the midfield.

Cheers Watto. Would you care to share some of the points you heard?
ScrappyDo........a lot of what he said was along the lines of:

Identifying the strengths and weakness's of players........physically and emotionally and then having programs to assist that player where required.

The strength of the welfare systems within the club.

The absolute value of having every player employed or some level of study....Uni etc.

The bonus of having guys like Mason Wood and Tom Campbell mentoring certain younger players and the mentoring occurring within the whole playing group.

There's heaps of finer points that I can't remember..........I was kicking myself afterwards that I didn't take a pad .......

We're in very good hands.

We really should have left a fruit basket waiting for the Bombers as thanks for not picking Phillipou
Tsatsas has no left foot at all. He bananna'ed a ball from the left half forward flank to centre it inside 50 with is right.
Looked awkward AF, and he won't get away with it in senior footy.

The incident in the first 45 seconds was a wrist problem when an opponent bumped it and looked like it hyperextended inward (if that's a thing). Then he goes for a tackle at 11 minutes and breaks his finger. Pretty sure they are separate incidents and that the first one is unrelated to the finger

Mentioned on the feed on Friday that the Garcia household went off like a bucket of prawns in the sun when he was selected @ 50 in the draft, so I went looking for it. Couldn't find that clip but this popped up on the feed.
It was SoS talking about our draft and Shoemakers in particular. Put into context what they were looking for in him and it was the way he bounced back from adversity and how he matured. Well I will let you listen to SoS and put it in the context of how he bounced back from the 10 week ban.

Puts into perspective how he reacted to his 'modified' fitness program, how he got fit, and the reported eye catching performance in the VFL match. Maybe we have got a young bloke a bit immature who actually bounces back well when he is faced with difficulties. Gives me a bit of confidence that Arie is on the right track and has a good head on his shoulders, but needs to keep working at it.

Anyway have a listen to SoS

Every time he kicked the ball I winced at the butchering of it, and jumped at the same time for joy because of the fortune of the pou coming to us. Even under minimal pressure he's just lopping it on the boot. Early days for him but not very encouraging.

I’m happy to stand corrected.

Hoping Windy gets a good run at it from here as I think he will help tighten us up around centre bounce a little.

On a different note how about Laverde trying to rough up Wilson, and then getting absolutely torched by him on the mark.

Pretty disrespectful from Wilson.

…historically thought it was named after a saint and thus pronouncing it that way is perfectly acceptable.
Nope. It is not acceptable.

I doubt one person in the whole of Melbourne says Saint Kilda or East Saint Kilda when referring to the suburbs.
So maybe I’m being pedantic (!) but I think the club should notify every media outlet and commentator to tell them to get it correct.

It‘s like people referring to the city of Melbourne as Melborn.

It’s shouldn’t be that hard for professional commentators FFS.

FMD… the football club is “Snt” Kilda… the suburb is “Snt” Kilda…

The only people who pronounce the suburb “Saint” are backpackers and morons. You put yourself in the boat with BT and Der-Wayne Russell; is that who you want to be?!

However some inbred Gaels back in the day pronounced it is by the by… this is how it IS.

Get on board or shut up.

Here’s a helper… 🧏🏻‍♂️

Been sucked in hook line and sinker my rotund friend. Thought you were better than this 😘

That was the knock on Tsatas, his kicking!

I’m really not. Not even a little bit.

A little bit disappointed we didn't get to see Henry run through a few centre bounces, would've been interesting to see how he'd fair through there in a competitive environment

Don’t worry, they’ll get Gresham to give him some specialist kicking sessions. Should sort him out in no time.
