Membership 2024

Earlier in the week I bought a friend a ticket and a seat in the grandstand next to me for the weekend AFLW game. Tried to transfer it to him today via the myLions app but the Transfer button was disabled. Contacted the Lions and was told that because the extra seat was bought through Ticketmaster you need to get in to their app/website in order to transfer it, even though the ticket itself is visible in the myLions app.

Seems obvious when you write it out to be fair, but perhaps a trap for others to be aware of.

(Cheers Dallas in the Lions membership area who was very patient with me.)

Looks like it's roughly a 50/50 split between full or equivalent members and discount members.

Over the next few seasons we could even go past other small Victorian clubs in Bulldogs and Saints, they're not that far in front of us.... maybe when the new Gabba comes around we could aim for top 8.

So not sure what they describe.
Home : full season home members ?
Home and Away members : Does that mean Away season ticket holders like Melbourne?
And what is reduced , I'm thinking possibly maybe S.A. members that have access to games?
I get the rest though.
I'm also thinking in the near future, maybe we could get people going for Lions Memberships instead of say Gabba memberships or AFL
Especialy those in Brisbane.
Pretty happy with our numbers, we haven't struggled for crowds in Brissie.

They seemed to have pretty good numbers at the Grand Final last year.

Sydney away games in Melbourne have the largest H&A attendances between a Vic and non Vic side so it’s the strongest interstate club in Melbourne.

Of course they don’t hold 1st place though since that spot goes to Richmond vs Brisbane Round 23 2019 ;p.

Sam Lord was on the Roar Deal podcast this week and disclosed that about 8000-9000 Lions members were in Victoria.
This would easily be 10k+ if we had the right amount of games in Melbourne.

there was enough this year to make the victoria membership package worth it imo

in the past its been pretty grim

I treat it as a donation (and the september membership as a scam I'll sign up for as I want priority access to GF tickets if we make it) but last year was just awful.

Yeah definitely "better" this year, still think it can go one better.

Membership numbers will have changed dramatically by the time The Gabba is completed.
Unfortunately, we will most likely be coming off a much lower number. Possibly 20-30K.
If our form is solid when The Gabba is completed that will begin the upward trend for membership.

When the Gabba’s out of action, we’re going to have to make sure we get at least the 6 games in Melbourne. We could potential use it as a time to grow the Melbourne based membership if we get enough games a few years in a row. Make up a little for maybe a decline in qld members with no Gabba :(

Agree, play as many games in Victoria as possible.

We will have take over GWS's mantra 'play anywhere, anytime'.

Just received my membership renewal email.

Can't remember what i paid last year so possibly some increase overall as the e-mail did not mention prices have stayed the same.

I am a premium concession and the price breakup on invoice is $409.45 with Sep being $50 & AFLW $42
So, a Loyal Lion discount of $21.55.
Below the 2024 membership prices and what is in membership packs unless you are a Green member like i am.

Good to see the club won’t be increasing September member numbers.
Why? I'd happily pay for a September membership if they make more available. As it stands now, I can't access unless someone gives it up... September membership is already showing as sold out.

I presume so they don't oversell them and end up with no guarantee of tickets, a la the Collingwood debacle

The site seems less than ready, which is typical of Ticketmaster really. Trying to buy a weekender and tack on a priority 2 September, but it's directing to aflw membership page when I try add to cart
