If he makes himself available I would go for Isaac Smith
I heard him on MMM, not sure if he’s serious but if he is
4 time premiership player and Norm Smith medallist only 2 years ago
Elite athlete and rangy physique who would still be extremely fit forget his age
Knows 2 different extremely successful clubs systems and standards and would offer great leadership, something we desperately need
Fast and can run all day including defensive running and elite disposal and kicks goals, often from a long way out
If we could get a year and a half of him it would be worth it and provide one of the missing pieces

Need x factor and speed. We have a slow midfield and a lack of smalls who can break the game open in the forward half.

Would go for speedy midfielder and third tall/small forward with x factor.

Why are people wanting a big key defender? We need speed and ball carriers who can kick. Mihochek and Cox kicked one goal between them.
I’ve seen this mentioned in relation to people being critical of Young’s game, that he only conceded one goal and while his direct opponent may have only scored one, his inability to mark, contest, chase, tackle, shepherd or even get in the way caused several and I think I’m being generous.

In the last quarter with Young in defence he chases Elliott on the lead, the kicker puts too much on it, with the ball going over Elliott’s head, Young is about two meters behind, doesn’t jump for the ball, doesn’t try mark the ball, he doesn’t even raise an arm, the ball goes over his head to a small who goals.

These instances don’t go down as a goal scored on Young, but his lack of awareness, competitiveness, intent was a big factor.

Several times on Friday when the ball hit the ground near him, he displayed no urgency in picking it up and everytime he was kicked the ball, it was like he was holding something he didn’t want.

YOU DONT NEED SPEED - you need footballers= who can execute the basics under pressure - like simple handballs and regulation 20 meter kicks - and sticking open field tackles - the ones that matter.

Speed speed speed LMAO

Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and Viney have been the dominant midfield in the comp for half a decade. Not too much pace in that unit

I know it's a novel take on things but we need the psychological impact of a breakout player or two, that's what we need.

ALl we need is for the players to play simple hard nut football and execute simple basic AFLlevel tackles/kicks and handballs- - and get it to Chalrie or Harry in teh right spaces in teh forward lines...carrying a lot of role players not playing their roles atm...

big year for a few players on very shaky ground.
