As always its just one guys opinion and he's entitled to it...wouldnt matter what order it was there'd be complaints.

Some interesting high rankings tho...none moreso than Sam Fisher's rocket to stardom.

Tend to agree with it...the guy has actually become one of the games elite yet is still largely unrecognised as such. Was an inch off AA (in the squad) last year as well and i see him and Bock as the prototype attacking defenders all clubs want right now.

Bock and Fisher should be ranked alongside...boith about 20ish IMO. These guys had seasons to make other coaches green with envy...KP defenders that set up your attack are absolute gold in modern footy. Scarlett another one who had a good season setting up a lot of attack.

I disagree with Hudghton beating Franklin, when the ball was coming into the 50 he scored 3.3 in a half of football. In the second half he moved up the ground to get the ball.

And in the finals he had that hand injury.

Come on - that hand injury? AFL players harbour niggles week in week out and survive and thrive.

In that Prelim final, Max comprehensively played Buddy out of the game in the first quarter. It was a stunning performance - rivalled then topped only by the fact that Hawthorn realised this and then easily found and targeted many other avenues to goal.

Agreed, in the prelim Maxy beat Buddy pretty easily, and that was probably the first time all year that he has been comprehensively beaten.

However i dont think he was "smashed" during the home and away as some supporters tend to think. Buddy beat him pretty easily in the first half kicking 3 goals, and got no supply in the second half.

THought Fisher at 11 was the biggest shock for me. Very good player and deserves to be in the 50, but hes not the 2nd best defender in the game in my opinion.

Your missing Ozzie!

dunno bout motlop at 29, hes dangerous but doesnt have the consistensy. lenny hayes probably deserves to be further up in the rankings, definately ahead of motlop and corey enright. mackie should have got AA ahead of enright. mackie has a huge futur

i love mikes top 50. apart from the geelong players and richo (sorry everyone) most of those players make their possessions count. I would much rather have a team of 10-15 possession getters who miss the target once, then a team of 20+possession getters who cant do a thing with it.

This year he mostly picked a list who uses the ball well, and influences results. rather then picking a list based on hype (corey excluded)

The Motlop consistency thing is a bit of a misconception based on previous years. This year he was only goalless twice (very good for a small forward) and scored at least two goals in 16 out of 21 games. To put that in perspective, Franklin failed to kick at least 2 goals in 4 games this year out of 25, and Motlop five out of 21. It's a difference, but it's not exactly a huge one.

Petrie, Cornes and Osbourne..

Petrie, just because the bloke plays above himself
in an ordinary side, he gets a gig, give us a break Mike.

Chad Cornes? Is that a typo Mike? Chad Cornes done
absolutely nothing this yr, maybe I read it wrong and it
was Kane.

Osbourne, id maybe have him in my top 200, just ahead
of Zac Dawson

He isnt playing at Carlton and his name isnt Chris Judd.

Bit shocked to see his love child at number 10...

It's not a bad list, it will always be controversial. Still, Sheehan is a nob...

Mike Sheehan said:
Ablett's teammate Joel Corey comes in third. He is the best-and-fairest winner in the most successful team of the season, and the biggest possession-winner in the competition.

He has his agenda and believes his own hype. After talking the cats amazing team up all year, he cannot be seen to contradict himself.

For the first year in a row though I dont give a ****, we won what matters, the rest can think whatever they like.

My Analysis:
1. Gary Ablett
2. Lance Franklin
3. Joel Corey - Probably around 10 is right.
4. Luke Hodge - Probably biggest disgrace of all, should be late 40s.
5. Matthew Scarlett - Far too high, 20s.
6. Brent Harvey
7. James Bartel
8. Brendan Fevola
9. Adam Cooney - If he hadn't won the Brownlow nobody would have him here, 20s.
10. Chris Judd - Second biggest disgrace of all, 3.
11. Sam Fisher - Absolutely spot on, great to see this guy get recognised.
12. Matthew Richardson
13. Matthew Pavlich
14. Nick Riewoldt
15. Dean Cox - Should be top 10 at the least, if not top 6 or so.
16. Joel Selwood - Gun, but a tad too high.
17. Simon Black
18. Jonathan Brown
19. Sam Mitchell
20. Tom Harley
21. Daniel Cross - Good to see him up here well done sheehan.
22. Cameron Ling
23. Max Hudghton - hmm maybe a slight adjustment to >100.
24. Nathan Bock
25. Andrew Mackie - Probably 40ish is more accurate but good to see him recognised.
26. Chance Bateman - Mike is caught up in the premiership hype.
27. Daniel Bradshaw
28. Drew Petrie - correct.
29. Corey Enright
30. Chad Cornes - interesting.
31. Paul Medhurst
32. Steve Johnson
33. Jarrod Roughead
34. Dale Morris
35. Ryan O'Keefe - probably not top 50 this year
36. Leon Davis - not as outrageuos as some people think I reckon he is quite accurate.
37. Daniel Motlop
38. Aaron Sandilands - Get out!!!
39. Brad Sewell - Well deserved.
40. Robert Murphy
41. Brett Kirk
42. Brett Deledio
43. Jarrad McVeigh
44. Dane Swan
45. Lenny Hayes
46. Luke Power - No, not this year.
47. Scott Thompson
48. Michael Osbourne - Hahaha Sheehan has lost the plot here. Osborne is okay but not top 50.
49. David Hille
50. Matthew Boyd

Overall diagnosis: Sheehan is a looney.

well, the 1 and 2 were undisputed. He couldn't get that wrong.

Everything else is opinion. Corey and Hodge seem high, but not that high.

Sewell and Kirk seem too low, but that's bound to happen.

Overall rating - 1 man's opinion, get over it.

Putting Michael Osborne at number 48 is like selecting Kwame Brown in the NBA All Star Game.

:D ROFL :D :thumbsu:
Thanks for that, I needed a good laugh!! Osborne has been fantastic this year though and has achieved more than Kwame ever will in his career!

As for the Top 50, it's kinda funny how so many people get their knickers in a twist over it. It used to piss me off but honestly, it's just one guy's opinion and doesn't really matter all that much.
