Traded Mitch McGovern [traded to Carlton in a three-way trade involving Sydney and McAdam]

Starting tomorrow... Operation Ditch Mitch.
Blues and Crows brothers and sisters, put your pitchforks down... let's be friends. :rainbow::thumbsu::moustache:

Funny what a couple years of mutual distrust and anger between fans and administrators will do. Thought it would be over when Gibbs went, but one year later here we are with the Govmeister Saga.

I liked the Crows teams of the 2000s, watching Ricciuto, McLeod, Goodwin and Bickley go to work, and seeing Burton take a hanger or too while Hart and Smart controlled the backline. The team was good, but non-threatening to Carlton, mired in the bottom rungs as we were. We still had some great moments playing you guys though.

Fev's best ever goal in my mind.

Back on topic, here's hoping that the McGovern trade gets sorted early. I don't want it to drag on till the end of the trade period and adversely affect our other movements.

I keep telling people Reid is a tightass. If he doesn't like what's being offered, he will drag this out to the very end. He has form here. It's what he did with Cameron who was also unhappy at Adelaide. If it were still David Noble in charge of list management, he'd probably accept a packet of chips just to get the trade done quickly.

So both SOS and Reid have now spoken on radio this morning...

And given the supporters of both clubs sweet FA in information in regards to this Gov deal..

Geez, surely they could throw us bf ranters a bone after the weeks of debate on this subject!.. but nup, nothing.
Well at least we know Reid is open to taking the mature picks into consideration...that's not nothing.

I daresay he'll still require a 2nd rounder on top of it, or at least a 2nd rounder swap.

I can see SOS's mind and whiteboard working to show Reid the contingencies:

If we miss out on Setterfield: you get 2 second rounders

If we get him: you get a mature and a 2nd

Something like that. That's the main reason for the delay methinks. I honestly would love to get both McGovern and McAdam.

Yeah Reid has mentioned they are waiting on Carlton to do other deals as Gov isn't their number one priority.
I reckon SOS and Reid have developed a secret friendship  over the last 2 years and so just like hanging out as long as possible at trade week before they have to depart to their different states. :D
