Traded Mitch McGovern [traded to Carlton in a three-way trade involving Sydney and McAdam]

I doubt any of the Carlton fans mentioning McAdam have even seen him play outside of a highlight reel.
what do you expect son? for us to fly over to south australia and catch a game? we're entitled to read media reports and watch highlights, as we are to talk about him.

media rates him, so who cares if we haven't done our own indepth analysis. he'll likely be yours anyway so stop talking him down.

All I expect is people not to overvalue a player they know nothing about. You just admitted you don't know shit about him but you think you know enough to make an informed opinion about his value in a trade.

Mcgovern's highlights are ok. Would be nice to see him get on the park more
Even a spud like David Mackay has a pretty neat highight reel.

MM manager says sooner than later, I would say answer tomorrow

Adelaide list manager Justin Reid said the Crows and Blues had "good dialogue" regarding Mitch McGovern on day one. He also said it was too early to tell how talks would pan out but they would consider a range of options, including their pre-selection picks.

Reid: "There's some consideration about those pre-selection picks Carlton have being used around the McGovern deal."

Pre-selection pick plus 25 looking pretty solid at the moment.

How does that quote say anything? It pretty much says he's considering everything Carlton has to offer...

I could just as well say Carlton using those pre selections and 2nds to get Adelaide a pick they would accept is solid from that.

That makes sense assuming GWS accept it

I wouldnt be shocked if Us, Adelaide and You blokes dont do a three way deal.

Your pick 2 goes to Adelaide. You get Carltons and Adelaides future 1st rounders. Adelaide give us 15 and McGovern. Carlton give Adelaide McAdam.

Adelaide get Pick 2 (and a wink and a nod we take Walsh at 1; giving them their pick of Luko or Rankine) and McAdam. Lose future 1st, 15 and McGovern. Two picks in the teens and McGovern for Pick 2 and McAdam. They still have 8 and 20 to deal with. Looks OK.

Suns get 2 x future 1sts (ours and the Crows). Lose Pick 2. Spreads out the high selections over multiple years. Looks OK.

Blues get McGovern, 15. Lose McAdam, future 1st. Our future 1st is likely a pick in the 4-6 range, so [5 and McAdam] for [15 and McGovern]. Maybe we also need a later pick swap in our favor as that's a little high for us.

We should then be able to bundle 26 + 25 together for a mid to late 1st from a team looking for points (Sydney or North), and flick that pick to the Giants with 15 for Setterfield and Shiel (should they nominate us).

Ockham's Razor...it could be a number of things - but what is most likely?

Stop living in dreamland.

So from the Crows perspective we get 2 and McAdam, we lose 2 firsts and McGovern (who Crows rate mid-first, and Carlton a late first)? Hard pass, thanks.

After we shit the bed (thanks Clayton) on the Weller and Eagle pick swap deals last year I can never say never, but hopefully the Suns have stopped gambling on future picks.

The tape doesn't even go around the whole reel for D-Mac

Two firsts? Pick 16 this year and a pick likely in the teens (15 or so) next year.

Stop rating picks by round and look at the value. Pick 2 is worth 2500 points (and importantly lands you one of Lukosious or Rankine; it's likely your only chance of grabbing either player). Picks 16 and 15 combined are worth 2100 points.

Its two picks in the teens over 2 years and a third tall in McGovern for McAdam and Lukosious. It also leaves your pick 8 and 20 intact this year should you (for example) want to bundle them up for a pick in the 4-5 range to snare both Luko and Rankine (or Rozee).

You end up paying 8, 15, 20, McGovern and next years 1st (4,500 points and McGovern), but you wind up with picks 2 and 4 (4,500 points and McAdam).

The difference between Gov and McAdam is the premium you pay to move up the draft order to snare Lukosious and best available from Rozee and Rankine.

Director of footy at Adelaide said no go,so the answer would be no

Adelaide wants Mcadam so its a go. Suns and Blues are battling for him and if we snare him then you will get him with 2nd round pick.

Dont hate the player - hate the game.
