Did he used to be on the ABCC or something? Demanding individuals be sacked for their previous jobs is pretty standard for Setka. I believe he once said the families of members of the ABCC should be harassed.
Mr McBurney, as Australian Building and Construction Commissioner (ABCC), initiated legal action that resulted in millions of dollars of penalties against the Construction Forestry and Maritime Employees Union (CFMEU).

Mr Setka said the demand to sack Mr McBurney was backed by the CFMEU’s South Australian, Victorian and Tasmanian branches.

Is this even legal?

My god people are pathetic. It's like people who buy a house next to a pub and then complain about the noise.

If these people can show that they bought the house BEFORE football started at West Lakes, then sure. Otherwise, they bought their property knowing there was football there. Bit much to then complain about the noise football makes.
Unfortunately they often get their way. People that lived in a street next to a golf course complained of getting golf balls landing on their property causing damage, so the golf club reduced the length of the hole from a par 5 to a par 3 to stop it.

I have no time for these people.

I'm amazed that people buy houses so close to golf courses. Some peoples' backyards and back windows are right in the firing line especially given most golfers are hacks

It’s the CFMEU. Does it even matter?

No, but Setka is well known for making illegal threats and union boycotts.
A significant contributor to the rapidly rising costs of construction.

Also Setka organised a hostile takeover of those 3 branches of the CFMEU so not surprising they support him lol.

I've decided to oppose this.

I reckon it's too close to port. Same side of town.

I reckon we should find somewhere in the eastern suburbs that will REALLY piss off the residents. It will be glorious.

The Glenside hospital area maybe.
Bulldoze that parking lot north side of the parade, behind those shops.
Botanic Park - Womad can go somewhere else.
Vic park racecourse, or just right on the top of those wetlands there.

Let's do this.

I don’t get people complaining about noise. I live 40 metres from a football club. They train 4 days a week, they have light towers, they have matches every second week, they host the GF with crowds of 10k, they allow cars in the ground and in 17 years I have heard **** all.

No wait, if I am in the front yard I might hear a cheer or a car horn but I’d be outside. I k ow I’d easily sleep through a days football

Isn’t this from people who bought one of the new houses that were built after the move to Adelaide oval?

Sounds like they sold the idea that the club would eventually move, without a new tenant coming in.

Ok this is one of my councillors in the Semaphore Park ward - “Operation Kick Him Out” commences.

FFS, there are **** all residents in the area.

On the Southern side you have the golf course, on the Western side you have the West Lakes Shopping Centre and on the northern side you have buildings that have been around for years (but after when the stadium was built).

So the current dwellings were built after 2014. The question does remain what did the developers tell prospective buyers given the AFC had a lease until 2048 and the oval land is owned by the SANFL.
