That dangerous tackle call is appalling. It was HTB well before hand and the umpire left it. Blow the whistle earlier and the tackle never escalates to the second action.

Clearly tanking. They will get a top 2 pick and bring in a gun, trade for a couple of decent players and go again. They are too good a club. They don't stay down for long. Probably have a couple of gun kids hidden away over there in the West. But yeah, today's games were rubbish for us neutral's. I hope we can put a side away like the Swans and Dogs did today. Nothing like the feeling of a 12 goal belting! Been waiting since September last year for another one!

the Eagles are a club that's proven bottoming out works in the long run if done correctly.

Post-Malthouse Judge years - Eagles were rancid. Somehow managed to draft the player of the decade in Judd and assemble talented mids around him to win a flag

Post Judd/Cousins - rancid again. Finished last in 2010 and then rebounded to make the prelim the following year. Obviously drafted NicNat (bit of a sore subject) and although I don't think he's ever been great around the ground, having a genuine tap ruckman that give its mids first use is invaluable, as well as bunch of talented talls (Kennedy, Darling, McGovern) who ultimately won them the premiership in 2018.

If I was the predict who would make another GF next - North or West Coast (both will be battling for the spoon this year), it would be the latter.

I think West Coast manage to bring in good young talent while they are still on top of their game, by the time they have an inevitable decline their youngsters have been developing well during that time and the bounce back is very swift. The nick nat situation is great example nic had plenty of time to learn and develop under Dean cox so by the time he retired he was ready to take that number 1 ruck spot. Melbourne with Watts had nothing hence the stunted development. I feel Sydney is in the same boat as west coast they continually stay competitive while bringing in good young talent and rarely stay at the bottom end long. I'm hoping Melbourne can do the same and I think the drafting has been pretty decent, so there's no rush to bring guys like jvr in, just bring them in when ready.

They've been depleted this year but they're experienced players look like they've fallen off a cliff too.
The Tim Kelly trade may well go down as the worst ever in terms of list build
