What a shock
At least had us top 2; not many did preseason...and you?
Of course, no point in idle speculation at that time of year. I actually agree, but these forums are a bit of fun and unwinding.

Yeah I know, it just reminds me of last year and many other years in the past decade. The favourites tag has often been a curse. I know you will say Collingwood got rid of them last year and are now ill-equipped to do so, ergo a Richmond flag is guaranteed. Football/sports just don't work so easily. There's a huge amount of time for anything to change and an upset can happen at any time.

The flag race is wide open.
Pies could still knock them off this year, but they have way too many injuries right now.

I'm not quite sure how Richmond always manage to have superior numbers at the contest, but never get caught out in other parts of the ground.
that is their gameplan, grub it forward anyway they can and everybody, I mean everybody goes there. that is their secret really, totally buy in, commitment. any one or two of them don't, they start to break down.

I'm actually sorry for Jamie Elliott, he's played not much more than a handful of games in 2 years. His injuries mean he can't (or shouldn't) go for those spectacular marks any more and yet, there seems to be that expectation.

The commentators are such weathercocks! They were bagging Prestia early in the game for not holding a wet ball and pumping him up now.?

Yeah, no. Lynch wouldn't ask that because he had that delivery from Prestia at the Suns.

I just did a quick ladder predictor, here's what I got (with Richmond winning out as I expect them to, and Geelong going 3-2):

Geelong (1st) vs Richmond (4th)
West Coast (2nd) vs Brisbane (3rd)
GWS (5th) vs Adelaide (8th)
Collingwood (6th) vs Essendon (7th)

Interestingly enough I had each of Geelong, West Coast, Brisbane and Richmond finishing equal on 16 wins with places down to %, so it's going to be close. IF avoiding Richmond in week 1 is the aim, we might be hoping for a Brisbane or West Coast slip up. Most straight forward route is probably lose week 1 to Richmond, beat a GWS/Coll/Ess in a semi and then lose away to West Coast in a prelim.

And #9.

I didn't watch a lot of the match; wasn't really a great spectacle to watch, at the end though they mentioned Cotchin won't be playing next week due to injury - what did he do?

Had a bad hair day. :p
