I wonder if they'll play the classic TISM song "I might be a ****, but I'm not a ******* ****", or a song that describes Richmond, the Regurgitator hit "I sucked a lot of **** to get where I am."

:p

Perhaps the Frenzel Rhomb song with the lyrics 'Get ****ed you ****en ****wit, you can't come into my house"

Jarmaine Jones escapes the axe:

Those who will not continue include two players who made their debut this season – midfield rookie Hamish Brayshaw and forward Nic Reid.

Defender Francis Watson, who suffered a serious knee injury at training late in the season, will also depart the club after playing two games in 2019.

Rookie-listed players Anthony Treacy and Mitch O’Neill will leave the club without playing senior football.

Reid, one of the feel-good stories of the year, graduated from amateur football to make his debut against Hawthorn in round 12, while Brayshaw made his solitary appearance in one of the great qualifying round victories against St Kilda in round 17.

I'm more Aussie music based....What about Skyhooks classic "You can all go and get ****ed"

All the best to Rhys Shaw - i dont wish any harm to anyone

But what annoys me re this debate - or you just continually hear it - over and over again - is that AFL coaches are under tremendous stress and pressure - what they fail to say - is that they are getting a tremendous pay packet ( and there is no way they would get that type of fantastic money outside of football )

You get a tremendous salary in most occupations - then there is pressure stress and plenty of responsibility .

Im a big Billy Goggin fan obviously - you go right back to 1978 - Goggin was coaching Footscray - 3rd year their ( year 1 they made the finals ) - they were selling key players Quinlan and Denis Collins to pay the bills - so he could see the writing on the wall - so after round one 1978 - he resigned - quit . Same year - Ian Stewart - 1st year coaching Carlton - lot of expectation - after about round 5 or 6 - he quit as well . Now those 2 would have been on minimal money - if however they were getting todays remuneration for coaches - 600- 700 or 800k - there is no way known they would have quit - might not have done their health much good - but they wouldnt chuck in that fantastic money .

You look at Rhys Shaw - if he was say on 50 or 60k for coaching North - and with health issues - then after after say 6 or 8 rounds - he probably would have resigned - but they dont want to chuck in that big quid .

All you hear - is that AFL Coaches are under such stress and pressure - but they never mention the size of their remuneration package .

Money doesn't equate to happiness though. Just look at the likes of Robin Williams, Chester Bennington and all the other celebrities who we have lost due to mental illness. Are you saying if they earnt more money they would still be with us?

No he is saying the opposite, if they were paid less they would have quit their jobs in the limelight and found a more fitting and fulfilling career like used car salesmen or telemarketer.

If you compare to private industries, or even some senior public servant position, AFL coaches are under grossly disproportionate scrutiny relative to that pay packet.

And this pressure and scrutiny would also make it harder to tap out at times. It's not an easy thing to publicly humiliate yourself in an insular industry that is ultimately ruled by overly emotional fan opinions.

Best you read up on the bolded , his suicide had nothing to do with mental illness or fame or money

He had a deliberative illness that he didn’t want to get worse and for good reason

Quintessential. Pretty horrific listening back to some of their stuff on youtube right now :fearscream:

Edit: Saved by Penguins & Polarbears by Millencolin coming up in the related videos. Haven't heard that for a while. The 90s......

I was giving Millencolin a spin in the car the other day - quite a delight! It's a great album as to is Life On A Plate
