I don’t understand the AFL media‘s (and the vast majority of AFL supporters) attitude towards suspensions. they seem to enjoy trying to get players suspended, and will always actively try and find reasons why players should get suspended. It makes no sense to me, I want the best players to be playing as often as possible.

rugby league commentators and supporters have the opposite attitude - unless a player does something truly dangerous they will actively try and find reasons why a player should not get suspended.

Controversy > clicks > journalists not falling behind on their rent
 
watching the freo port game. Ollie wines took a mark 45m out and hand passed to Houston for the shot at goal.

it got me thinking….I would love to see an analysis of how often this move results in a goal. Maybe my brain is deceiving me but I would guess it works about 15% of the time.
