Yeah. Are they just taking it easy or are Carlton good or has someone just figured out Collingwood's game?

Collingwood are fallible if just one side can maintain this level against them for 4 quarters instead of 2 or 3. You need a fit side with excellent depth for rotations. It'll be interesting to see if Carlton are that side because in reality they are no better than any of the chasing pack.

Shorts aren’t enough. This clash is horrendous. For starters one club must have a white back with a dark number.

Even better: Blues wear that baby blue shit from a decade or so ago.

Shame Cox has been subbed out. This match was tailor made for him to pop up with a mark at the top of the square late and have a massive head wobble despite doing nothing all night - which is pretty much his M.O.

Collingwood are picking the most annoying possible night to finally kick poorly in front of goal. Not only does it actively help one of our direct rivals for a spot in the eight, but this is also a match the Pies can afford to lose so we can't even delight in them choking for once.

Incidentally, the Pies have been the beneficiaries of huge amounts of luck this year in terms of their opponents accuracy in front of goal (tonight is a rare exception). See here: AFL Tables - 2023 Season Scores

Pies are the BCCI of AFL, and the AFL just allows them to do whatever they want.

Pies home game, onus is on Carlton to not clash.

Problem is, Eddie had a hard on for tradition and used his power to insist that the big 4 didn't have to wear non-traditional jumpers against each other (like the blue M&M jumper back in the day). So now it's just accepted as is with no thought given (same reason we seem to wear white shorts against nearly every team for no reason, like richmond/hawthorn/essendon that don't have any white in their home strip)

Defensively they are excellent and they are the best team from half back. But they aren't great up forward, and in finals I think their forwardline will cost them the flag. McStay, Cox and Mihocek ain't going to get it done. A lot will be left to Elliott.

the previous few years the Pies have mostly black home and mostly white away jumpers. this is more evenly both. the class is on Carlton or AFL
