It’s not within the realms of likelihood but yes I would love it. They are rubbish.
Yeah.

Also, even if they weren't rubbish, we already won the flag last year - a Richmond final would be fun given the unlikelihood to win the flag from outside the top 4 anyway.

I can understand dreading some teams as the flag favourite but as a "wildcard" team are we seriously terrified of this version of Richmond? Or even Carlton. Nope. If they win so be it.

I don't understand the reference in relation to my post. We should expect to only play bad, out of form sides come finals - ideally none from Melbourne? Might be true for some but I'm not sure how it relates to your comment here.

I don’t want to play good teams (Pies, Port, Lions @ Gabba). Happy to play the rest and especially happy to play bad teams like Richmond. Unfortunately in finals you generally have to play good teams. Richmond won’t be there.

Avoiding interstate sides on their home turf is ideal, although personally only Port @ AO is on my big no-no list. But Melbourne based teams at the G are just something we have to live with. And you have to be very lucky to play poor teams in finals like you said. If we were to land Collingwood in a prelim, we'd go in more confident with a win against Carlton or Richmond under our belt.

If we're going to win from this part of the ladder we have to be an everywhere anytime. The 2016 Bulldogs we having injury woes at this point in the season, the week off bought them a little time. They won two interstate matches on their way to the premiership.

The Hawks in 2014… smashed by WCE week 1, went the long way around and won the GF

A truly amazing experience. We all thought and hoped they were gone after the WC loss. Had to beat Freo in WA 2w later.

That's why you never write off a reigning premier until the fat lady is singing.
Very good point.
But it has to be owaat.
Freo today. Always a tricky team for us, but we should be winners.
Then, Our next 4 are tough as.

What a disastrous day. Losing what should have been a regulation win, the Hawkins and Blicavs injuries and GWS came down from about 6 goals vs the Dogs to win.

Everything that's happened since three quarter time of the Richmond/Hawthorn game last week has been godawful for us. In the space of 11 results since then we've had:

  • Richmond come back from 30+ points to steal the four points against the Hawks
  • Carlton get a massive percentage boost against the Eagles
  • We lose to Brisbane
  • GWS beat Gold Coast
  • St Kilda come from behind to beat North
  • Carlton beat Collingwood
  • GWS beat Bulldogs
  • We choke with our season on the line against Freo
  • Hawkins and Blicavs injured

:(

Yeah it's been brutal. Sometimes it's just not your year. It's frustrating because there were signs things were turning around and fortune was going to swing our way for the run home - but today in particular has been a death blow.

Carlton and GWS also winning....maybe we can hide behind the excuse of "It's underdog round".......

Add the Suns to that - should they hold on here.
