North have won 12 games since the start of 2020, that is next level bad especially given how many high draft picks they've had access to.

To put this into perspective,

Carlton won 28 games between 2002 and 2007, and that was a period which saw them hit with sanctions for rorting the cap after already screwing their list.

The stats show Carlton of that period to have been worse than Fitzroy were in their twilight years, so the fact North are even worse is a sad indictment on the club.

North are complete trash.

Surely LDU walks like McKay did under FA next year.
Ive been saying we should be into LDU...

Clarkson can't kick the ball for them.

It's not his fault they're missing 20m kicks or handballing to team-mates with 3 opponents on him, or helicoptering into the forward line....
On top of that North were so bad for so long, that even if you bring in talented kids who are they going to learn off? North have had a few years of getting quality kids from low picks, they need to aggressively pursue quality from other teams. They need to find a point of difference they can offer to players (i.e Geelong with the lifestyle, Pies with support, etc) and leverage that.

If they don't all they have is quality kids coming in, then leaving them with shit players from other clubs or journeyman players.

I've said this elsewhere - despite Melbourne only winning 4 games in 2014, everyone could see the progress Melbourne were making under Paul Roos that year in his first year as coach.

North on the other hand aren't making any progress under Clarkson, and the appointment is looking more and more like Denis Pagan at Carlton as time passes.

How long has it been since Clarkson has done an above average job as coach?

Seriously
But with the shape North is in, their resources etc, who comes in? At least Clarkson wanted the job as an ex North person.

You can't have a rookie coach go into that shit show either.

I guess my concern is that he was brought into North to be a saviour. And he just isn’t that coach anymore.

The last years of his Hawthorn reign was an absolute shitshow, and he completely misjudged the position of the list. In the end, that ran him out of the place because he was never going to get them going again.

And now he is the one charged to rebuild North from the absolute pits of afl hell? It would have been better to bring in an untried coach who had a modern perspective on how to build a list, or bring in a serious development coach.

Clarkson is neither of those things, and right now he is taking them nowhere. Fast.

Good lord this is bad

“North's horror win-loss record over the past four-and-a-bit seasons has been well documented; for the record, since the start of 2020, the Roos have recorded just 12 victories from 90 games, a win percentage of 13.33.”
