I didn't realise how completely screwed up the fixture was for the start of the season until I looked at it just then.
I stopped playing Supercoach etc about 10 years ago because the byes / sub just pissed me off so much. It is even worse now with a half round and then 2 teams a week having a bye for the first 6 weeks of the year. WTF is that.

That's revenue-raising 2024 style for the AFL. Fairness of the fixture comes a distant second to that consideration every single time.

This is a long shot but if anyone has 2 tickets they want to resell for Taylor Swift in Melbourne, please PM me. Have a 14 year old autistic daughter who was devastated to miss out on every ticket sale. If we could somehow go, it would be my 4th biggest thrill of my life at the MCG - behind 2007, 2009 and 2011 of course.

At Grammys last week I ended up in a lift with her and her group after the show. Tried to snag a selfie with her in the BG for my eldest who is a Swiftie.... they shut me down and said no so I didnt do it.
Called my eldest and told her the story... she screamed like a banshee for 8 mins and cried lol... so i get the Taylor effect. Hope it worked out for you.

Changkuoth Jiath could miss the first month of the 2024 AFL season after scans revealed a serious hamstring injury, per Seven's Mitch Cleary.
Jiath left Hawthorn’s intra-club early on Thursday morning and was immediately sent for scans which returned a poor result some six hours later.
The 24-year-old had been tipped for a move to the wing in 2024, a position shift that will now be delayed. He’s set to miss eight weeks.
“The injury he went overseas for was around the groin and pelvic region that he needed to have assessed. That’s been really good since he returned,” Hawks footy boss Rob McCartney told SEN.
“This is an injury not related to the previous injury.”
The Hawks face Essendon in their opening match of 2024 on March 16 before taking on Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood and Gold Coast in a difficult start to the season.
Earlier, key defender James Blanck was ruled out for the entirety of 2024 after rupturing his ACL during the same intra-club, while vice-captain Dylan Moore was diagnosed with glandular fever.

Neither of them should make the list. No team from a sporting league without a salary cap should be considered eligible. Dominating through financial superiority isn't creating a dynasty, it's buying success. Meaningless.
