Bastinac is a better player currently than Wood, Turner and McDonald. Close call between him, Gibbo and Ats. However he has stagnated somewhat playing primarily an outside role in 2014. He looks a little bigger this year and potentially will find himself in the more traditional rover role, a role which suits him much better. I think he does need to work harder in the gym to get stronger and bigger to make the most of his inside abilities, if the coaches see him as a full time, well rounded mid into the future.

He is our most natural rover in the team........his first tackle he brushed it off Cunnington style and I thought, yes do this more! but he still isn't there yet. Once he learns this there will be a major shake up in the team, structurally wise.

I remember watching one of his first training sessions with the club in which he won clearance after clearance by reading the tap and evading the first tackler. It's his natural game for sure.
