Anyone else think Bob thought this was going to be more than an invitation to Hall of Fame, I.e. a role back at the dogs.

He says as much in this article.

“Footballers are not comfortable with compliments – give us some barbs or take the mickey out of us and we’re quite comfortable, so when the compliments started (from Ameet Bains) I was like ‘I’m feeling a bit icky here, there’s a job offer coming here’.

Well I'm disappointed that the editor of this video was so fcuking stupid that he/she was able to confuse our with out in the video title. Well ELF will have something to say about this and no mistake.
Careful there NW, we're keeping our eye on you.

Im more disappointed in Ameet Bains' claim that the conversation was "private and confidential."

When he was probably wearing a mic like a narc and there was a camera hiding in the bushes 50ft away.

The entire thing was giving me an uneasy Zapuda film vibe.

Yes, but what if it was Bob wearing the mic?!

A reverse set-up... and he knew all along he was being inducted!

I reckon we could go into the Bye round 10-4 realistically, then I think we could easily win 7 of our next 9. The only hard matches are Collingwood and Geelong. The rest we should be favourite.
Kiss of Death. Adelaide by plenty.

I didn't even watch it, so outraged was I by the can't be arsed proofing the title work ethic. Amateur hour.

Plus I find Bob a little annoying.

Im guessing you won't have to deal with the chicken, fish or Burrito conundrum at the function then.

I have one quick question I would like to ask about social club membership.

I have social club membership, can I bring a mate into the social club rooms with my membership?

Forward efficiency.... it had previously been discussed in other threads but our forward efficiency since rnd 2 is ranked 7th in the league.

I have no doubt that by end of the season we'll be inside the top 6 or so (including rounds 1 and 2).

Another nail in the coffin for the narrative about our forward line performance.

2023 Top 6-8?
2022 9th
2021 1st
2020 6th
2019 7th

Does anyone know who wrote Salty Dog that Bevo referenced in 2016 please? It’s referred to multiple times in “A wink to the Universe” by Flanagan as the narrative for the year. All I can find is a book by Gloria Rand and I don’t think that is correct.

"Based on a true story, Gloria Rand's children's picture book Salty Dog--featuring beautiful watercolor illustrations by her husband Ted Rand--follows the adventures of a puppy who grows up riding on ferries and sails around the world.

Boat builder Zack takes the ferry to work every day accompanied by his young pup Salty, until the dog gets too big to hang around the shop. But Salty enjoys the daily voyage too much to be left behind, taking the ferry by himself to join Zack.

Once his vessel is as sea worthy as his dog, Zack and Salty set sail on a wonderful and heroic journey across the oceans."

Maybe it is this book, if Bevo is Zack and Salty is the team determined to follow its mastermind on a voyage of quest and discovery ultimately to a destination only previously dreamed or spoken of.

I haven't read the book ... but it has pictures .... so I might be able to make a connection.
