Cats should be happy because they got the prize of this trade. He is worth the price easily. We will be shitty watching him develop but at least got a bit back. Thought we would end up with 25 and swap 27 for Mitchell so keeping 27 makes this palatable. Hats off to Geelong. They have smashed the trade period.

Can't wait to see Ollie get absolutely smashed in the contest next year - see ya sook!
Can't wait to see the slowest midfield with Adams and Mitchell operate for the 5 weeks of the year they'll both be injury free

Geelong paid a lot more for Henry in reality as they traded up to spite us.
This is not a good reflection on Mackie, Anthony McConville, or the Henry family - especially his parents IMO who would have been influencing this.
The tweet that came from his Mum was beyond embarrassing.

You happy with that in the end? Stephens and 25 for Henry?
Yeah. Trade period is always an exercise in the totality.
Your first trade affects your next one, and is affected by all other clubs trades. Fast moving feast.

Upgraded our R1 this year by 11 spots.
Got 3x former first round drafted players under 25.

All of which only using 2nd, 3rd and 4th round selections in totality this year and next. Held onto our F1.
(18 for Bruhn is cancelled out by being gifted 7).

For all the Mackie is a flog talk who doesn't care about player welfare he's thrown a former 1st rounder from 2019 away for next to nothing. For his own career's sake really.

Yes we need better extractors. And another KPD as well as a KPF. Hence why we're taking the savings from Grundy's contract to bring in recruits (whether those recruits are the right ones is another story but that's for a future thread)
This is the essence of list management. You identify weaknesses and look to rectify them. If that means diluting one of your strengths (Grundy) then so be it.
The other unknown is how well Grundy will recover from his PCL and ankle injuries. As the stats you referred to have shown, his value lies in his mobility. If that's diminished. his value goes down.
And you can quote all the stats you want - the one stat you haven't mentioned is our win-loss record without Grundy.
Oh geeze, Grundy was behind the win loss record? Sheesh.

A smart club would have found a way to keep him. Sure re-negotiate his salary, but don't low ball it so badly that he has no choice but to say no. Clearly there is bad blood and a certain level of disrespect involved - Grundy has been a great servant of the club and is being made the scapegoat for poor management decisions made by the administration. Just like Treloar. Or De Goey.

The coach is decent but there are clear signs the club itself are not out of the woods yet. Some really concerning decisions if you can be objective about it.

I am sure they didn't want to, but he just wasn't getting a game and had a few players in front of him. Ultimately, he walks next year when he is out of contract, or Geelong can use him as a bargaining tool to try and get Henry.
Not trying to nitpick, but didn’t you guys prioritise midfielders (Bruhn) thus Henry wasn’t ‘a priority’ to then trade a young midfielder heading into his 4th season (only his 2nd injury free) for a forward who you guys were claiming ‘wasn’t a priority’ for 200 pages?

Thoughts on Dodoro as your interim list manager until you find a permanent replacement for the Mack?

The #mackattack landed all of his trade targets in Bruhn, Henry and Bowes, kept his future 1st and upgraded this year's first from 18 to pick 7. For Cooper Stephens and some nothing picks.

It might be the greatest trade period in history! The #mackattack will go rest until the draft, prepping another reaming to the rest of the AFL.
