Great game yesterday at Wodonga with the visitors in the Wodonga Raiders coming from behind with a spirited 4 point win.

Most supporters could not get in the rooms afterwards to sing the song which was sung as loud as I have ever heard it.

The Raiders have shown they are going to be a thorn in all teams sides and maybe unsettling the top five before the season is out.

It was vintage Mark Doolan who led a very evenly balanced and underated side.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Fantastic win by Raiders, Storey and Mahor got into it again, which seemed to rev the Raider boys up... I thought Heta played some great footy and has had his best year by far.
Lambert made a good change rotating the ruckmen into the goal square and created a couple of good goals. I dont understand why he does not keep this structure for the rest of the year.
Hopefully the boys can continue to win and boost their confidance for next yr!
But anyway great game - Too bad wodonga :D better luck next time!!!!!!!

It's certainly hotting up for the winner of the Goal Kicking award this season.

Adam Prior 59
Matt "CHOOKA" Fowler 54
Dan Leslie 54

My money's on "CHOOKA", he's in career best form, and has a game against Myrtleford to come.

Leslie will struggle, has played Myrtleford twice already and won't get the scoring options the other 2 will get.

Prior also has another crack against Myrtleford but that won't be enough, the supply "CHOOKA" gets from the Albury midfield is enormous, so much so, that reaching the ton may not be out of the question.

I would think Prior would be favourite, has been in white hot form lately, and Leslie seems to be still coming back to full fitness after his leg injury.

The problem Fowler has is that Albury has a wider of spread of goalkickers when compared to both Raiders and North Albury.

Leading Goalkickers
Albury - Fowler 54, Mackie 36, Hyde 28, Carey 26, Kotzur 20.
North Albury - Leslie 54, H.Murray 14, Goode 12, M.McDonald 10, K.Brown 10.
Wodonga Raiders - Prior 59, Cook 16, Way 13, Michael Sims 12, Bryant 11.

can someone fill us in on why mackie has kicked so many goals? r they coming from when he plays midfield or has he predominatley playing a forward role for the tiges this year?
where has kotzur been playing?

How do people see the final two spots in the five falling, really 4 sides right in the race now, and Raiders are not mathematically eliminated at this stage, but would need everything to go right.

Current Standing and Run Home

Corowa-Rutherglen (28 points, 111.8%) - Raiders (H), Myrtleford (H), Wangaratta (A), Albury (H), Wodonga (A).
Wangaratta (24 points, 122.8%) - Wang Rovers (H), Yarrawonga (A), Corowa (H), Myrtleford (A), Raiders (H).
North Albury (24 points, 109.5%) - Wodonga (A), Raiders (A), Lavington (H), Wang Rovers (A), Yarrawonga (H).
Lavington (24 points, 97.5%) - Albury (A), Wodonga (H), North Albury (A), Raiders (A), Wang Rovers (H).
Wodonga Raiders (16 points, 89.3%) - Corowa (A), North Albury (H), Myrtleford (A), Lavington (H), Wangaratta (A).

I'd think that Wang would make it, has both Rovers and Myrtleford to come and home games against Corowa and Raiders, along with clearly the best percentage of the sides in the race.

Personally think Corowa will sneak into the final spot, on the basis of their percentage and the game lead they already have up on the other sides.

North are tough to call at the moment, as their form could improve markedly once they get a few of thier injured players back and fully match fit, as has been shown with Lavington over the last couple of weeks, but I think both these sides will find themselves just short.

Raiders are the X factor in the situation, as they play all of the other sides in the race, so can shape the finals race with their performances.

Based on form they are pretty even with the other sides in the race having beaten Lavington, just lost to Corowa and Wangaratta (albeit at Raiders), their only blemish in the corresponding matches being a hammering at North Albury (without Prior), which was before they won their first match for the season.

Here is where Mackie stands out amongst other on-ballers in the league. Most all his goals have come from the mid-field, his work ethic is brilliant. He may not get the 30-40 plus touches that the likes of J Mc and Neerly get, but he would average around 22-28 possys most weeks and chuck in an average 3 goals a game and you've got the most damaging mid-fielder in the league.

Kotzur has been playing that flank-type position with some time in the mid-field, has kicked some great opportunistic goals this season.

Career best form? Or simply getting a better supply than he's had for 10 years?

Gday boys just wondering if anyone can give me some info on a couple players named mullens and mcgoldrick ( or mccormac not sure which one it is? ) believe they play for wangaratta? cheers.

just wondering if any corowa people can give me some feedback on Tyler 'sox' bonat, the great man seems to be in the best each week....is this a true indication of his form or has the team manager fallen in love with them bulging 16 inch bi's? or is his strict diet of leafy greens, lean meat and fish, fresh fruit, grains as well as his supplementation of vitamins and minerals paying dividends either way good to see him playing senior football once again.....:thumbsu:

can some one make me The best O&M side would u slot in players such as dave clarke,Sam Carpender, Kade stevens .and also id like to see the forward line leslie, prior, fowler, cook. .u couldnt play them all what ones would u put in ur side

Is there any coincidence Matt Fowler's form has gone through the roof since they have branded the ball with the KFC logo?
:D:D

very hard to pick a side with so many good players running around this year so i tried my best. forward line was hard to pick and as you can see bradshaw who is still a gun missed and i couldnt even squeeze him in as an emergency. mid field rotations would be amazing with the depth of running options in this side...chris macey abit lucky but picked him because hes been soild this year and can play either end

B: Josh Walker David Steer Chris Macey

HB: Judd Porter Adam Williams Luke Carroll

C: Matt Shir Joel Mackie Mick Stevens

HF: Matt Fowler Dan Leslie David Clark

F: Tim Hargreaves Adam Prior Craig Ednie

Foll: Cal McClay Jon McCormack Chris Hyde

Inter: Micheal Hooper Bill Neely Nic Raines

Emg: Adam Cook Kade Stevens Shaun Daly

Chris Macey??? you've got to be kidding, ditto on Josh Walker being picked!! Gee on form this year Sam Carpenter would be in the first few picked.

Heard that Dave Clark kicked the winning goal for the VCFL today against the Ammos. Scores: VCFL 17.8 (110) defeated Ammos 15.16 (106)

yeah i wandered down to have a bit of a look he kicked the winner right on the final siren. vcfl fought back from 5 goals down early in last quarter to get up, massive effort

This team has not been picked on reputation but rather on form. D Porter maybe a little out of position but he has played defense effectivly at times.

Backs: D Maher Sauce Lonergan D Porter

Half Backs: D Mckimme A Williams R Ferraro

Centres: T Bonat McCormick N Raines

Half Fwd: S Daly D Leslie B Horn

Forwards: Fowler Prior Ednie

Rucks: Hooper Carpenter Hyde

Bench: Mackie Neely Hargreves

Emergencies: Twitt M Stevens K Stevens

Pretty even spread of players - albury 5, yarra 4, wodonga 3, corowa 3, wang 3, lavi 3, north 2, raiders 1

So Where are Hartwig and Koehler the two in-form key defenders of the competition. Also would have though David Thayer could have possibly squizzed in there ahead of Lonergan.

But I guess this goes to show the depth of quality in the competition this year. You could ask 10 people to pick a side and there would be significant changes in all of them I would guess.

Lonergan - played 7 games, 5 times in the best and named best on ground twice
Koelher played 12 games, 5 times in the best and hasn't been best on ground
Hartwig - played 10 games, 3 times in the best and named best on ground once
Thayer - played 13 games, 6 times in the best and hasn't been named best on ground.
Williams - played 13, 6 times in the best and named best on ground once.

Kinda speaks for itself

Fair point u make there Velvet. Williams could have slipped into a back pocket though. Haven't seen much of Dan Maher or Daine Porter in that position this season. Other than that, pretty close to being spot on I would have thought.

Kinda does, but if Koelher went down injured, Albury's premiership chances would take a real jolt, gun player, should be the best of full-back:thumbsu:
