“A lucky bounce, an umpiring decision ... it can go either way. Last week was the same. The pleasing thing is we're in games.”

In other words, the umps f*cked us over again.

Clarko really has learnt how to politicise his media responses these days.

We finally have the structure balance and I think these guys are helping with our bombs down the line play we all so love to see ad nauseum.
Credit to coaching staff tho. They are figuring it all out …
What a waste of money Stephen’s is. 4 years of cash we could and should be loading on the LDU contract .
Yep. Stephens is deplorable.

I’m glad the players acknowledged how ****ing hard we got around them that game. May not have been like the big 4 but shit, it was definitely worth of an extra man on the ground
30k there tonight, and I reckon we trumped the MT Bulla contingent. Get to Marvel next week and make some noise - it definitely makes a difference.

I don’t know how we were down by so much in the 3rd quarter?

We won disposals, contested possessions, clearances, inside 50’s and tackles and somehow lost?

Was a gallant performance but geez we really need to retain LDU and Zurhaar.

Our forwards forgot to get involved in the 3rd qtr. they wouldn’t move, or put any work in.
Last qtr our forwards got on their bikes again

Statistically dominated Melbourne.
Should never have found ourselves 39 points down.

Too easily scored against on turnover and again umpire mistakes killing us when it matters most.

That comeback was always on. To keep Melbourne scoreless, they play Brisbane in Brisbane next week and its going to get ugly for them. No positives to take from that for the Deez.

Archer bounced back well. Our mids could be anything. Shattered on the siren, but its turning.

We're coming.

Bulldogs next week couldn't have come at a worse time, they love flogging us. Take it to them for four quarters and the worm has officially turned. Can't wait to see Logue and McKercher back in the side.
Last year was 21 points but we were -36 for inside 50s, margin was very flattering.

Yep, this game last year was my low point. Left very early, just couldn’t do it any more. From then, from a month ago, the difference is stark. This team wants to compete hard, can do it to win the ball, and can use the ball.

To be watching North games with a chance to win them instead of telling myself from about quarter time that it would be nice to keep this under x points or y goals. I am loving it.

And the crowd tonight was going off. more of that too please.

If he picks it up and flicks it to Curtis we win. Jy appeared absolutely spent which may have played a part. Looked like he copped a whack mid way through the last and kind of seemed concussed/dazed
Watching the replay now, I agree he looked dazed. If so, that’s dreadful news for him and us. I hope it was just fatigue. Another concussion doesn’t bear thinking about. 😢

Play like that and there are no excuses not to beat

Richmond
West Coast
And possibly Gold Coast and Hawthorn

In the run home.

Unless of course the umps are still up to their usual tricks
Getting to 5 wins would be like reaching the summit of Everest for us. But as you say, somehow achievable.

Demanded the game was shown at a big 40th bday I was at tonight, one hours drive south of Sydney.

Party was obviously full of
downhill skiers being a NSW crowd who mostly go for the swans.

But by the end, everyone there wanted an upset because we were playing such a compelling brand of footy.

The worm has turned.

Curtis should have yelled to LDU he's got cos he had an easy chest mark...would've been a pretty impressive overhead mark by LDU from his marking position.

Yep, Curtis should have called LDU out.

But Paul doesnt have the kick in him. And he would have played on and sirens sounded anyway.
Wasn't to be. Jy's soccer had to go towards goal, not the boundary.

At the same we should expect some wins for the rest of the year.

Don't forget last year's games against * and Sydney. We were all encouraged and thought wins would naturally come and we fell back to shit again. We can't rest on our laurels thinking it will just happen.

We've had enough 1 goal losses as well as heavy losses. It's time to start collecting those Ws.
We have a solid CHB, Sheez and George with more experience. An improving ruck. With Logue to come back in, a far better back six. McKercher, Hardeman quality kids. We have so much more to be optimistic about I think it's far more sustainable than last year. We also lost a truck load of experience at the end of 2023. We are taking genuine steps forward towards becoming a good team. Yes wins would be nice and they will come with the groups further development.

**** we were going offf our heads eh! Been a long time since we’ve had the crowd visibly lift the team like that.
Went along by myself tonight and just had an absolute blast riding the wave of momentum with the team and the other fans at the end there. Would have dearly loved to have pinched it but it feels like FOREVER since going to the footy was actually fun. Go Roos
