Yes, let's take a chance of getting another Livo with our first pick. That would make our humiliation complete. We have to take the player that is generally rated the best in the draft, that way even if he doesn't become a superstar, at least we know everybody would have made the same choice.

I reckon we should take Murphy at No.1 then at No.4 Hurn

Its not about taking the best mids we need to build our side so take Murphy no1 and Ryder no4 a good big kkp is what we need

Murphy will definitely go no1 - he is a no brainer and really I can't see him not being a star of the game.
I want Hurn at no 4 as you can never tell how KPP will turn out and some who carry big hopes don't turn out that good (Livo).
I think that Carlton will select Ryder or Kennedy using 4, depending on what the Hawks do.

So we pick a guy who is a ruckman yet is only 196cm for our first pick? Better hope he is a gun KP.
And if midfielders are so easy to find then were are ours?

Sorry Lou, but Murphy will be No.1. As for pick 4, obviously it depends on who Collingwood and Hawthorn take, but my first option will be Hurn, then Ryder then Kennedy.

we have KPP waiting in the wings

if you can't win the ball in the middle and at stoppages, you are not going to win many games.

WCE- 7-8 gun midfielders and no star KPP

Needs another two pre-seasons, Hartlett = injuries thus far, the O'hAilpins I wouldn't be putting my house on to perform in 2006. They are our development players who we hope will be KPP/Ruckman who move like midfielders but are 2m tall.

WCE have no super-star KPP but have very good ones in Glass, Hunter, Gardiner, Hansen, Staker, Lynch and Seaby. They have more of an even spread I guess but they do have quite a few big bodies that are good players.

This year the Blues really didn't have any. Livingston, Norman, Prendergast, Morrell, French, Bryan and Deluca wouldn't get a game with WCE. Fevola, Whitnall, Waite would and Thornton might.

Our best KPP heights:
Fevola - 191cm
Whitnall - 190cm
Waite - 192cm
Thornton - 192cm

...and WCE best KPP heights:
Glass - 192cm
Hunter - 190cm
Staker - 196cm
Seaby - 200cm
Gardiner - 199cm
Hansen - 198cm
Lynch - 194cm

All of those WCE players would play in our starting 18 as they are huge blokes. We definitely need some height and stength with one of our early picks.

We need a good midielder with pick 1 (Marc Murphy) and a good KPP with pick 4 (Josh Kennedy). Ryder could be anything but IMO is still a little short for an AFL ruckman. He will need to be able to hold down CHF and CHB regularly rather than be a 196cm flanker. Kennedy on the other hand is physically ablt to play CHF and CHB. He is 195cm and 93kg and is a very good pack mark player and a big workhorse. We don't have this!!!

1 - Murphy
4 - Kennedy (if Hawthorn take him then Ryder)

if our current developing KPP are not ready, what will make the KPP we draft ready for AFL?

i used WCE to show that a gun midfild and decent KPP is a good option

jarryd roughead and lance franklin did not take 2005 by storm, they did OK and contributed.

BTW seaby is a ruckmen. why did you leave out french he is as close to a workhorse as we have.
