Player Watch Pick #14 (2019) - Miles Bergman

I heard Miles interviewed very recently. He described his illness as quite scary. He was hospitalised and after several tests they still didn't know what he had. To make things worse he got covid whilst in hospital. Lost a heap of weight too. He also said he's only started just feeling well and like his normal self.
Kid wanting his family. I can understand that.

Viruses exist in Melbourne too

Port is normally pretty good at supporting young players who might be considering going home for family reasons. But maybe they're not at the moment. In striving for Koch's mediocre stability the club probably feels like a pretty unstable place to be a player or employee right now with impending change.

If Bergman does go, make sure you get a small forward coming back the other way - be it a direct player swap or a multi team trade. Ie go hard after Kozzie Pickett and use Bergman to make the deal happen.

Do you know where I can find this interview? Illness stuff is terrifying. I noticed his weight loss.

For a young guy going through that I hope the club took the opportunity to fly some of his immediate family over. Its gestures like that that are appreciated and remembered by players and are important for their wellbeing too.
