His dad played reserves for the Saints.
Could be family connection and Saints supporters seem keen on the idea of him leaving SA

Quick check of his Bio

"The 19-year-old, who idolised Lenny Hayes and Nick Dal Santo growing up."

I get the feeling he's not leaving. He is just playing so well and seems to be enjoying his footy but if he does, we have as younger options, Mattaes Phillipou, Isaac Keeler, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and James Van Es.

Imagine if we convinced another highly rated SA boy drafted to a minnow Vic team to request a trade home in his first season. The melts would be godly.

Geez he was good overhead marking today.

10 intercept possessions 7 marks 3 contested marks

And thereā€™s not a stat for the amount of aerial contests he got his hands to, and dons forwards couldnā€™t get a mark inside 50 from.

As Iā€™ve been saying for weeks, heā€™s our key defenders guardian angel.

I didnt write it in here, but I said to a mate 4 or 5 weeks before the season started, that he was my tip to be our biggest improver this year. Williams has that award covered, but Bergs is probably second.

I am waiting for him to shows us fully, his athletic prowess and become a star performer for us, week in week out.

Just sign him up, trending ever upwards and not sure where his ceiling lies. Just needs to clean up his occasional kicking clangers.

Me too.

I had hoped that this year he would start his journey towards becoming a high end mid, and he started on the wing and showed great signs but it became necessary for him to go back.

I just donā€™t think we can afford him not to be there at the moment, before the last two weeks I think his contribution there had gone a little underrated but people are picking up on it now.

Miles' first half marking game was exceptional. Reminded me of Nick Haynes from GWS just picking off the long kick in. He has a really penetrating kick and now he is confident to break away from defence gets some real depth into attack.

Priority. Number. One.
Love Bergs and what he has given us as he matured. A Breakout year and lock for defence. I'm certain Cripps and the coaching panel sees him the same

Sadly our main priorities for 2024 are a tall physical mobile key defender and reliable dominant ruck. Which is what might put him out of reach in $$ terms. But I sure as heck hope not.

What a player.

Fantastic mark. Natural footballer. Confident player. Plays the ball. Has the tank of a wingmen. Desperate defender. Seems a good kid.
He's got a nice kick but it has to be refined.

And he is supposedly a gym rat as well.

It will be super sad if we don't get his signature this year.

I really wanted to see him in the midfield this year as he really has the body for it but we need him down back.

Reminds me of Callum Mills. Will play HBF for the a couple more years and then become an elite mid straight away.
