Would love us to back Hayes in too and resurrect his career with us.

today highlighted the importance of having two ruckmen ready for September, even if we only play one on any one day.

Lycett will struggle to string together a month of hard contested footy and Dante needs time to mature. Hayes plays just as well as Lycett in the ruck contest and needs game time to build his tank and understanding of how hard he has to work.

Listen, Ports might not like me saying this but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. Williams is at the wheel, man. He's doing it.

But he also has clubs chasing him, so if you want to pay * all then be prepared for him to go elsewhere.

I'm confident the club will offer what's fair.
I am actually prepared for him to go elsewhere if the price isn’t right. Georgiadis has dropped in the pecking order imo. Not sure after his knee that he will be able to return to the same game style he had before the ACL, so it is very risky to throw huge money at him.

I disagree. With Dixon on one leg, Mitch becomes more important to our future than ever. Lord is not at the level yet where you can safely say he replaces Mitch and could just as easily have a down year next year.

What I liked most was that he found a way to get back into the game after starting poorly against the Dons.

I’m not sure there would be much interest from other clubs and Dy has a lot to work on yet. If we were to get Sav and/or McKay, there will be a squeeze for spots and guys like Bergman, Jones, Houston, Farrell, Burton, etc will be fighting it out with Williams for a spot.

There would undoubtedly be interest in Williams, other clubs wouldn't even need to give up a draft pick for him.
A delisted player with a game to his name that is now a rookie and has played about 10 games. He has been solid no doubt but I would be surprised if there was much interest out there in him, outside of getting him on a low contract as a FA, in which case, why not stay and have that?

You are dreaming mate! Oppo clubs would be all over him. Commentators are taking notice, and without a doubt recruiters will too. And dont forget his manager ... he will be sprouting his virtues far and wide, looking to up his value with multiple bidders.

As for being a rookie ... that is actually a plus. It makes him a free agent so clubs get him for free. We are going to have to work damn hard to keep him!

Other clubs probably would but commentators are still pretty clueless. Just watched the two Fox shows tonight and they named just about everyone else in our backlines except him. He's under the radar.
