I reckon Drew will be a bolter next year.

You reckon he’ll be a rover in the middle while Atley, Hewett, Trengove are the contested ball winners? Or will he stay as a winger?

I may be wrong here but wasn't DBJ pretty much on the cusp of a delisting before he had a good preseason and broke into the first team in 2016? From memory he never really stood out in the Magpies and was even playing reserves at one stage, but we held onto him just long enough for him to finally hit his stride and find his place in the team. Correct me if I'm totally wrong though.

I agree with those suggesting that Hewett should've been delisted, but I'm not upset that he's still hanging around - he could still come good yet and as long as he's in Port colours I'll back him in.

The quality of the 40th player in your squad is a bit negligible.

no DBJ's quality was always his ability to play as a shutdown small defender and to win the one-on-one contest at ground level, as well as his good hands in close, this was evident when he drafted him and when he played at SANFL, he just had to get his body hardened and his tank up, Hewett has no redeeming qualities i can see, i just cant see what he could become even with rose coloured glasses on.

Drew is a inside mid-everyday of the week, if you gonna play him it has to be on the ball, his best attribute i think is his quick hands and decision making, he could become our Matt Crouch with his body right and a good preseason.

Club have said they see him as an inside mid, has played in the wing and flanks until he builds his body and strength.

Should have spent plenty of time in the gym building his upper body and core strength the last 12 months.

Yep Drews only hope is as a inside mid.

We have so many players to de-list next year. I'm struggling with our strategy. We must be paying way under the celery cap. I thought this year would be a good year to de-clog, especially given SA were so strong in the championships with their depth. I''m really confused by the 'trading' of our tall defender depth for nothing. I'm sick of the club holding on to depth players just to clog the list. Maybe they will be 'meh' one day? Maybe meh players will help the magpies? Maybe if you bring in some new talent they will be good?

2019
1 Travis Boak
4 Patrick Ryder
5 Matthew Broadbent
9 Robbie Gray
12 Trent McKenzie
14 Billy Frampton
15 Karl Amon
17 Tom Clurey
19 Jack Trengove
24 Kane Farrell
26 Riley Bonner
27 Joel Garner
31 Aidyn Johnson
32 Dougal Howard
37 Jake Patmore
38 Peter Ladhams (2nd year rookie)
39 Justin Westhoff
42 Thomas Jonas
43 Dan Houston
46 Sam Gray
plus Hewett

Broadbent, Amon, Johnson, Trengove, McKenzie and Hewett all to go.

Likely that Boak, Gray, Westhoff all sign one year deals or leave for a final tilt.

Jonas, Houston and Howard flight risks with big money.

Ryder, Ladhams and Frampton all would have question marks over their future I reckon as well.

Alot of guys will be saved by others being slightly shitter than them, or through list needs.

Huge issues if we lose another SA talent (Jonas)
