USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

What a mess.

But on another point ( not related to this article) where are they going to get enough air craft controllers if they start sacking what they call DEI hires. It is not something that can be learned overnight? It is extremely specialised and stressful and requires a lot of training and supervision.

Never thought I would hear the term " woke" used when signing an executive order. Childish, immature irrational thought bubble politics. It's like we're watching a far right podcast but it's real life.

And than you hear his supporters defending him by saying he's " Telling it like it is" and " at least he's honest" what exactly is he being honest about?, Didn't realise being a complete arseh*le has now become a prerequisite to being the POTUS. Morals and ethics don't matter anymore but I keep hearing " This is what the people want out our politicians" Da ****?? 😬

The national review is a conservative magazine , they even know rfk jr and gabbard are inappropriate nominees

And speaking of the bobster

From nyt
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told lawmakers in responses to questions released on Friday that he would divest his interest in litigation against a major HPV vaccine maker and would sign over the financial stake to an adult son.

He also disclosed he had reached at least one settlement agreement with a company or individual that had accused him of “misconduct or inappropriate behavior.” No other details were provided.

So whats to stop the unnamed son handing back the money to the bobster

So another candidate with a murky past in relation to inappropriate behaviour
First gaetzsy , then faux boy pete and now the bobster

So 25 % Tariffs hit allies mexico and Canada tomorrow and non ally chyna 10%. The stock market dropped . All those Trump voters with share portfolios or similar must be cheering loudly and thats before the inevitable price rises

Stock market today: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq stumble as Trump recommits to sweeping tariffs on Saturday

Trump falsely blames 'diversity hires' for the Potomac air tragedy and his followers responded...

Screenshot 2025-02-01 at 9.24.45 am.png

Jo Ellis, a helicopter pilot in the Virginia Army National Guard, was falsely identified as the captain of the crashed Black Hawk helicopter in thousands of social media posts this week. The flurry of falsehoods were so extreme that Ms. Ellis, who is transgender, posted a “proof of life” video to Facebook clarifying that she is alive and had not flown the crashed chopper.

The falsehoods, which tried to tie Ms. Ellis’s transgender identity to the tragedy, spread online shortly after President Trump and his allies attempted to tie the crash in Washington, D.C., to so-called “D.E.I. programs,” an array of initiatives meant to boost diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. There is no evidence that such programs played any role in the crash.

“I understand some people have associated me with the crash in D.C. and that is false,” Ms. Ellis said in a video posted to her Facebook account. “It is insulting to the families to try to tie this to some sort of political agenda. They don’t deserve that. I don’t deserve this.”

Ms. Ellis is a Black Hawk pilot who has served for 15 years in the Virginia Army National Guard.

Posts and reposts about Ms. Ellis surged Friday morning as thousands of accounts on X shared her photos and details online. The posts earned hundreds of thousands of views on the platform, according to a review by The New York Times and data from Tweet Binder, a company that collects data on the social network. “Jo Ellis” was the No. 2 most-trending topic in the United States on X late Friday morning with more than 90,000 posts, according to Trends24, a website that tracks trending topics.

So the transport secretary Faux boy Duffy voted against for funding of the FAA in 2019

Interesting
Not only that - Trump launched the air controller diversity program in 2019 that he now, falsely and without evidence, blames for causing the Potomac tragedy..

Trump said Obama weakened standards and “I changed the Obama standards from very mediocre at best, to extraordinary. … Then they changed it back — that was Biden.”

This is patently FALSE.

Trump’s claim was repeated in an executive order Trump signed Thursday that ordered a review of aviation safety: “During my first term, my Administration raised standards to achieve the highest standards of safety and excellence.”

This is also patently A LIE.

In his first term, Trump left the standards unchanged.

For air traffic controllers, the Obama administration in 2013 instituted a new hiring system that introduced a biographical questionnaire to attract minorities, underrepresented in the controller corps.

But Trump, in his first term, left the policy in place, and in 2019 he was President when the new hiring standards commenced.

The link under “targeted disabilities” is now dead, but the Wayback Machine retains links from June 2017 and January 2021 that show the page was unchanged during Trump’s tenure. The list included:
  • Hearing (total deafness in both ears)
  • Vision (Blind)
  • Missing Extremities
  • Partial Paralysis
  • Complete Paralysis, Epilepsy
  • Severe intellectual disability
  • Psychiatric disability
  • Dwarfism
The June 2019 webpage for the Aviation Development Program (ADP) — also now removed but still visible on the Wayback Machine — said the program “provides an opportunity for Persons with Targeted Disabilities (PWTD) to gain aviation knowledge and experience as an air traffic control student trainee.” Participants would get up to one year of experience in an Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), with a possibility of getting a temporary appointment at the FAA Academy.

(note that there is zero evidence to suggest that diversity hires played any role in the Potomac tragedy - this post is just to highlight the continuing hateful deceitful hypocrisy of Trump)

At the end of the day tariffs and effect on inflation is an economic theory - albeit a well established one

There'd be an army of economic advisers you'd think Trump would be taking advice from. That they've set a lower figure for China suggests some modelling has gone into it all. The devil will be in detail - I'm sure some imports will have exemptions too

Sounding VERY authoritarian

If they've investigated Trump they'll know where the bodies are buried, I'd be seriously be looking over both shoulders and reconsidering my future in America if I was them.

Yep. But a reminder that gravity, like every other scientific observation, and its effect on our lives on earth is also a theory - albeit a long established one.

Saying this because I'm aware that there is this idea that something being a 'theory' somehow makes it less than credible - erroneous thinking that is often exploited by unscrupulous politicians to create division and doubt. and to push personal agendas.

Tariffs ARE bad for the global economy and lead to long term harm for the country applying them - that is a theory backed without debate by decades of scientific and mathematical analysis and assessment.

Of course EVERY theory, be it economic or scientific, is open to question and re-assessment. And the knowledge and understanding of things, be it economic policy or the science of gravitational forces, is always evolving. But what matters is the evidence and assessment to prove or dis-prove them.

There'd be an army of economic advisers you'd think Trump would be taking advice from.

What advisers on 'any' topic do you imagine Donald Trump would employ, let alone listen to? And what advisors such employed would dare provide advice that was contrary to what they know Donald Trump wanted to hear?

Facts and evidence, built up over decades and centuries of research and meticulous assessment no longer take primacy of place in decision making. Everything, including facts and evidence, become pawns of transaction.

THAT is the danger of having a narcissist autocrat like Donald Trump in charge of the most powerful country in the Western world.

That was my suggestion! Well, not the rowing part.

He works in the State Department running programs to protect the rights of the disabled in other countries. Can't imagine Donald cares too much about 'cripples' as he would see them.
Didn't he literally say his disabled nephew should die?

Edit: yes he did
