a naughton-less backline should be easy to close down. There’s literally zero aerial presence up there right now with a team of very small forwards that Hinkley would covet yet Sydney still getting out marked.

Both these teams are very very beatable this year.

we match up favourably.

Neither are particularly strong stoppage teams and both are very very sloppy on the outside.

Yep. And one of the most concise and accurate summaries of how that demise happened is this one from the ABC:

What we are seeing now with the Crows is the demise of their game plan post 2017 and horrible list management over several years. As a result poor Matty Nicks has to deal with the horrible hand the Crows' administration have dealt him with no cattle to make a new game plan work.

No where is this better highlighted than in the midfield and the centre bounce. Neither Fogarty or Walker would say they are even close to being ruck material at 193cm and no rucks skills but there they are playing out of position and getting slaughtered because the crows traded Jenkins away.

Quite rightly the focus is now shifting on the inept Crows Board and management that got them to this point - especially Ricciuto who acts like the puppet master and quarantined his board and senior management from scrutiny in the 2019 review.
