Or we accepted it was correct. Dangerfield bump has been assessed as Severe Impact.

Patrick Dangerfield will almost certainly miss key games against Brisbane, Hawthorn and Melbourne after being referred straight to the tribunal for his hit on former housemate Jake Kelly.

Dangerfield was on Sunday handed a Monday night tribunal date after MRO boss Michael Christian assessed the intentional head clash as a careless hit of severe force.

The Herald Sun revealed on Sunday that Kelly’s heavy concussion and broken nose were certain to see the force elevated from high to severe.

The tribunal can make its own judgment on punishment but the base suspension for a careless-severe force hit to the head is three or more weeks.

Even if Geelong successfully argued to downgrade the hit from severe to medium Dangerfield would still miss two weeks.

Patrick Dangerfield, Geelong Cats, has been charged with Engaging in Rough Conduct against Jake Kelly, Adelaide Crows, during the second quarter of the Round One match between the Adelaide Crows and Geelong Cats, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday March 20.

In summary, he has been referred directly to the Tribunal .......

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Severe Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a direct referral to the Tribunal and the player cannot accept an early plea.

You were right REH. I do not believe that incident nor the outcome warranted a severe impact grading but I concede I’m not as incompetent as Michael Christian.

Christian has to be consistent. If he's not, that's what the tribunal is there for, to correct hm.

You get the feeling that WCE are going to do to the sun's what we did to roos. The heat will get to the suns and WCE will turn it into a blood bath. Fully expect they will go top after the round

Pretty good first round so far

Even though we were sketchy we look ok. It looks like everyone has quite a big covid hangover and struggling to adjust to the new rules and longer quarters/interchange cap changes.

Gonna be interesting to see where the ladder sits after about round 4.

Where does he go when impact is actually severe? To the high court?
I’d be surprised if the tribunal ban Danger for more than 2 weeks. Another bet I would no doubt lose!
